Does implicit racial bias affect the way we think about race in Chicago and why?

There two possible viewpoints in this issue
1. It's how the media portrays minorities in Chicago such as biased news sources (articles, news stations, etc.), TV Shows (not necessarily taking place in Chicago), and Movies (also not necessarily taking place in Chicago)

2. It affects the way we view police officers as in a lot of cases some police are often accused of wrongfully arresting or even shooting minority groups without any probable cause of any crimes committed thus people assume the police are the problem

I believe what the media mostly portrays is wrong, it's wrong for them to portray minority groups in a negative way, making people assume that all minority groups are the same. I also do not side with police wrongfully arresting minorities as most of the time police do not have any probable cause to do so

Implicit bias is shown by the media.
The Media has portrayed minorities in different ways, from a more positive standpoint to a completely negative standpoint almost thrashing on minorities.
An article by OJP says that the media portrays gang memberships as a minority issue affecting cities ignoring the fact that white (non-hispanic caucasians) participate in gang activity as well.
It is also important to note that stereotypes are also a factor in bias as well. According to an article by the Washington Post, it is said that major media outlets paint black families as "dysfunctional" while portraying white families as "socially stable". When the media portrays black families like this, it sends a bad message toward other causing a stereotype.

A part of the racial bias can also affect the way we think about the police. Police are often accused of wrongfully arresting minority groups and are also accused of using excessive force. In an article by Fast Company, police often shoot unarmed black men because they "feel afraid" yet calmly de-escalate conflicts with fully armed white men because they "didn't pose a real threat". This contrasts the way police officers treat white and black men. According to an article by the Washington Post, In its report, the task force pointed to data from the Chicago police that it said “gives validity to the widely held belief the police have no regard for the sanctity of life when it comes to people of color." This makes police look bad which is why the media tends to portray police as racist.

In 1964 senate voted 73-27 in favor of the civil rights act and on July 2nd President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the bill into law and later stated “It is an important gain, but I think we just delivered the South to the Republican Party for a long time to come”.
On president Biden's first day of office he signed an executive order advancing racial equality and support for lower class communities. Biden believes that throughout time racial injustice will leave our country.
Trump wanted to maintain low unemployment rates for african americans before and during the pandemic. Trump also wanted to strengthen minority owned businesses. Trump did support minorities and their businesses, Trump often criticized minorities and planned on limiting the number of Muslim and Mexican immigrants.
