I believe that there is beauty in anything; even "simple" or short music dynamics like a single note. One example from Ratliffs playlist is "Single Ladies" By Beyoncé. This song is powerful. There is so much simplicity in the music and the lyrics completely dominant the entire song. Sometimes it is necessary to have single notes in order to truly have a song come together and be something really impactful and wonderful. It is all just one single note. The reason being is that she is trying to mimick the people she is addressing her song to and is being very monotone. She lets the lyrics take over and be the voice of the entire piece. Even though the music dynamics are not as upbeat and tricky like other songs, it is meant to be that way.
