This poem is unique its like a riming conversation and so the different fonts represent the different characters in this scene.

 I think that this poet wrote this because there is some meaning behind this. Like if this was a story in descise. I think its about some kind of reliationship that the poet had. They got together and thats like how the dog and squirl met. Then it didnt work out and the feeling caught up with her. Thats the way that the dog caught the squirl, but she tries to move on, and thats the "See you tomorow?" Here  I think that the sleep that she ahse each night relaxes her but tomorrow it will come back and she will be eaten again by the asdness. This poem represents how the poet feels and she wanted to show how she feels and since its good to talk about how you feel.

It can also mean things like if the poet has a crush and since she wants to go "out" with him and since this poem is called Steps in a Flirtation this means she relly wants something and she would say thease things to that person. If she wasent shy. Its like her way to send her oun message and since she dosent have to confront him and dosent have to be rejected but if he feels the same he can come to her.

I can connect this to a movie I once saw. Sadly I didnt remember the name. I think the poet wrote this poem as a love letter to her lover but she is shy to say it directly so she used pseudonyms of animals to express her feelings toward her lover. For example," whenever you lower your guard, I step forward" is like whenever he is around, she steps up confidently to get closer to him. She wrote it as Dog and Squirrel because even though they are different or from another culture, their love can work.

The dog really want to bond with the dog and step into another level but the squirrel doesn't notice that so the dog keeps telling and writing love poems and love letters. He is desperate for her love. In the story the personality of the dog is energetic but quite clumsy and the squirrel is serious and smart but its not like the squirrel is all deep and has no fun but he is still serious. The story is mostly about different personality and different point of views but the actual story is talking about a dog attempting to catch a squirrel. The squirrel knows what to do, the squirrel has plans of escaping as if this happened everyday but the dog doesn't get any smarter. I find the story quite sweet because even though the squirrel acts serious at the end of the story he says " same thing tomorrow ?" showing that he actually cares about the dog and i'm guessing enjoys playing with him so he's not lonely. I would just guess myself since this dog does not seem very bright when he does the same thing every day is because he forgot that happened the day before. If the squirrel did remember that would be quite sad that the dog wouldn't remember any of their adventures. The story is really simple but if you think about it the story really has some deep meaning to it. The squirrel must be pretty lonely if he looks forward to see a stupid dog every day, I bet the dog gets a lot of love and attention at home and just plays with the dog in his free time. It states that the average iq of a dog is 100IQ when for a squirrel is 150IQ which means that it is more intellegent. Other research i have found is from the story my fellow SFA classmates and i had read which shows the dog enjoying almost all of the activities. I conclude that the steriotype of dogs not being intellegent is right but is also wrong because they are tha same side of a coin it can be one side or the other but it also depends on the owner's  behavier.
Remember that your actions effect the animals and that animals are just as human as you deer reader.

I suppose that this poem is written to entertain. This story really explains of how bossy type the squirrel is. On the other hand the dog is trying to like and be friends or more with the cat. But still at the end of the poem , both of them settle of a little. I think that the poet also kind of informed me about a regular squirrel's personality. The italics in the poem represents the squirrel speaking which totally fits and shows how sassy and a little show-off type the squirrel is  being. This helps the audience a lot to understand the voice behind this poem. In addition a squirrel's personality is something of running away from others which is something I usually have seen. But a dog is more of a friendly type and comes close to other and barks which can be called talking for them. So mostly, in conclusion I understood that the Dog has a relationship and emotions for the squirrel while the squirrel dis not at first because of their differences .  This poem is written to show how a totally different kind of creature with a different personality likes another little creature. But as mentioned towards the end that the squirrel some how enjoyed talking to the dog and so she said " See you tomorrow?" Additionally , I learnt from this short poem that , " Love is free towards anyone." After reading this poem I strongly agree to this lesson. Because at the end two very different creatures can end up liking each other. This is what I understood and learnt from this amazing poem.
