         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>First, I met observed Jeff doing a math lesson - which was wonderful.  The technology he integrated enhanced the students' understanding of how to solve long division math problems.  It also gave them a resource to turn to if they needed to review the process. I observed lots of grouping and differentiation :).</li><li>I then met with Sarah and Anne and we begin setting up stations for one of Sarah's upcoming units on animal adaptations.  We brainstormed the different types of technology that could be integrated to enhance the student experience...Glogster, Prezi, Doink.  </li><li>Next met with Jeff and we also begin going through the station process for a 5th grade unit on Landforms and Water.  We determined the # of stations, discussed guiding questions and so on.  I will create one of the stations for him and send for him to modify.</li><li>Lastly I did two TPACK lessons - one in Lynn's class and one in Jacqueline's class.  The two SOS strategies I used was 4 corners and Silent Charades.</li></ul><div>Four Corners Strategy was used as a summary to Lynn Pennington's class learning the positive and negative effects the Pilgrims and Indians had on each other. Students did an excellent job of justifying their positions for each question.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Jackie and Anne were out due to a conference and field trip</li><li>Sarah:  I got help with her stations and work with students video taping their Doink on their animals.  Had such a great day helping and seeing her students at work on their stations - can't wait to see what is next!  </li><li>Jeff:  We met and discussed different ideas for his stations on Landforms, set up his class in DE, and set up boards in DE for the stations</li><li>Lynn:  We met and she showed me her videos and pics from her stations - what a fantastic job!  We discussed her next steps - can't wait to see what's next!  Lynn created 10 stations for her 3rd grade rock and mineral unit - I have shared her stations with other 3rd grade teachers in the district - she has such a positive experience using stations and and can't wait to do more</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Nov. 3rd:  Lynn Pennington Stations - Lynn was so excited to get started on her stations that she created 10 stations for her unit on Rocks and Minerals and completed them on a day I was not there - she was one of the first teachers to attempt utilizing stations within her classroom - I have never seen someone so excited about stations and teaching - she her reflection board.  Many other teachers used her example to get themselves started on their stations.</title>

The app allows the student to add in a back ground that would be the animal's habitat.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Sarah Helgemo- students worked to complete famous historian reports by researching their person online, finding Google pics online, creating a timeline using web 2.0 tool - <a href="http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/timeline_2/">http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/timeline_2/</a>.  They also worked on keyboarding their report.</li><li>Jackie Williams:  Working on her first set of stations - SE Regions.  We started a board she will continue to develop to use with the students at our next session.</li><li>Lynn Pennington:  Learning Lab:  Lynn invited a teacher into observe her students Students will working on summarizing their learning from Revolutionary War by creating a Google Slide on the information they learned, Show casing important events using Google Tour, watching web quest and answering questions, lasting watching a video and listing out 2 truths and a lie.</li><li>Jeff Upton - Jeff and I discussed stations - he will create 6 stations his students will complete to learn the ecosystems - each station will be on one ecosystem.  He would like to have the students create an online ecosystem as an summarizing project - Jeff I am reaching out to my colleagues to see if they have any suggestions as well - Anne may have one for you too.</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Feb. 2nd:  5th Session - Great day of student led learning and engaging lessons!</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Helgemo:  Students worked in group on stations to review the 3 branches of government.  One station had students creating a poster of the 3 branches, another students were using (http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/venn_diagrams/)  this is a great web 2.0 tool if you have not tried it - you should.  It also has timelines and much more.  The last station students used was Icivics - lots of great lessons on the government - another good site to check out.</li><li>Upton:  Students also worked in stations to show what they know about ecosystems.  Jeff used a strategy at each station for students to show their knowledge of ecosystems.  Using Silence is Golden strategy they then wrote a paragraph describing what they saw in the video, they also created memes and much more.Jeff also had several other teachers in to observe his class a learning lab.</li><li>Pennington:  Lynn also had a learning lab as her students worked on reviewing electricity.  Her students did shape poems, watched a video then wrote what they learned on large chart paper and to collaborate they had to write agree or disagree next to each teammate's answers and discuss.  Students also created Venn diagrams using the website listed above.  </li><li>Williams/Blackwell:  They created stations to review weather.  They modified a few of the SOS strategies.  One group watched a video but then had sentence strips they had to put in order to work on sequencing as well as their weather knowledge, They also modified the strategy 3 Truths and a lie by having students watch a video then write out 3 truths and a lie themselves - the students loved having the other students figure out their lie.  They also had a learning lab - very brave for the first time doing the stations - so proud!</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>3/8/17 Williams &amp; Blackwell:  Learning Centers on Regions - 2nd Grade</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ms Williams and Ms. Blackwell collaborated on the centers to reinforce students knowledge of learning. Ms. Williams did an excellent job of opening the centers with discussing the I Can statements. There were 4 stations with 2 different stations in all. </div><ol><li>Students used Stoodle to have students to collaborate with each other to show their knowledge of different regions by posting words and pictures.</li><li>At the other center students used information from a Board and maps on the Board to complete an SOS Strategy - Z Chart.</li></ol><div><strong>Stoodle Student work</strong></div>]]></description>

         <title>3/8/17 Pennington &amp; Blackwell:  Learning Centers to Review Math Skills - 3rd Grade</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ms. Pennington &amp; Ms. Blackwell collaborated on centers to reinforce math skills in preparation for the State Test.  Ms. Pennington has an excellent closing with having students each state their I Can statements.  There were 4 stations in all</div><ol><li>Students used a deck of cards to practice numbers in various forms.</li><li>Students used Doodlebuddy to use images to show a multiplication problem and finding the answer that a partner created.</li><li>Students had to collaborate on a Google Slide to complete a number line.</li><li>Students had to draw shapes on a diagram and then use post it notes to list the characteristics of the shape.</li></ol><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>6th &amp; 7th Sessions<br><br><strong>Lynn Pennington &amp; Anne Blackwell:&nbsp; </strong>Anne and Lynn created 4 fabulous math review stations.&nbsp;</div><div>What went well - &nbsp;</div><ul><li>Awesome opening and closing -&nbsp; Enjoyed how students stated their "I Can" statements! &nbsp;</li><li>Remarkable way to share what new information they learned. &nbsp;</li><li>Great pairings - students really complement one another.</li><li>Effective strategies - loved how stations were designed for collaboration and feedback by and for students/one another.</li></ul><div><strong>Sarah Helgemo: </strong>&nbsp;Students are currently learning about the Civil War in SS and are reading a historical fiction story called Pink &amp; Say.&nbsp; Sarah created 5 stations that incorporated the book and their knowledge of the Civil War. &nbsp;</div><div>What went well.....</div><ul><li>Great use of varied modalities&nbsp; - loved the analyze picture, gallery walk and journal/diary stations. &nbsp;</li><li>Great examples of students demonstrating their learning through analysis, responding to questions and writing their own historical fictional pieces.</li></ul><div><strong>Jacque Williams &amp; Anne Blackwell:</strong>&nbsp; Jacque and Anne used Google slides to create 4 stations....nouns, adjectives, pronouns</div><div>What went well -&nbsp;</div><ul><li>Opening and transitioning - students could not only clearly restate their “I Can” statements but could apply their new knowledge</li><li>Positive Feedback - Used Melanie’s post-it to model&nbsp;</li><li>Encouraged the students to collaborate</li><li>Great creativity - wonderful lesson that can be used again and again.</li><li>Post-it Activity - Web 2.0 Tool -Linoit</li></ul><div><strong>Jeff Upton</strong>:&nbsp; SS lesson - students synthesized the history of the United Nations from a link provided to the students through Google classroom. &nbsp; Once students synthesized the info they will write a news article.&nbsp;</div><div>What went well -&nbsp;</div><ul><li>Students were actively working on trying to understand the history of the United Nations&nbsp;</li></ul>]]></description>
