Hello, my name is Adéla. I am Czech, and I study European Affairs and International Relations at the Faculty of Social Studies. I enjoy my study program as I am into politics and contemporary issues. Besides that, traveling must be my biggest passion. I keep a bucket list of destinations I want to visit one day, and being able to tick one of them once in a while makes me so happy. I’m Lucy and I study Literature and intercultural communication and Czech language and literature. I personally love my field of study – books and other cultural products (fine art, movies, PC games etc.) – because, in my opinion, all of them determine who we are as a society. Since I’m interested in narrative construction of identity in literature, I focus especially on autobiographies of different forms (“text novels” or even “graphic novels”). In my free time I spend a lot of time reading (you would not believe that, right?) but I do enjoy other activities as well! I love painting (especially watercolor techniques), going to the theater and taking walks in nature. The picture I chose to share is one of my paintings. I’ll let you guess where the chapel I painted is!

Greetings, fellows. My name is Ilya, and I study Catalan language and literature, but besides my specialty I’m also interested in improving my current language knowledge, for example in English or Czech. Although in the future I will probably become a philologist, I am also interested in many other fields as well, such as design, history and art. I’ve taken this course because I see that my English is still weak, even though I understand that I can’t and I won’t have an ideal knowledge of English, at least I can prevent difficulties in communication. Because improving language skills isn’t something with an end point, due to the fact that there will be always something new to learn.

Hello, I would like to introduce myself to everyone in this course: I am 20, my name is Taisiia (shortly Taya or Tasya, as you prefer). Although it is an Egyptian name, I am half Russian half Ukrainian currently living in the Czech Republic mainly because of educational and political reasons.

I am a full-time Bachelor’s degree student at the Faculty of Sports Studies here in Brno and I am in the fourth term of my Coaching in Rhythmic Gymnastics study program at the moment. I am proud to say, that I am really into what I study. Firstly, because such sciences as psychology, human anatomy and physiology have been among my main academic interests for quite a long time. Secondly, I just love working as an educator, (have a million reasons for it) and finally, of course I enjoy doing sports, which are an obligatory part of my student life now. That’s shortly why I think, I am in the right place to be.

As for my „non-professional” hobbies and interests, I am literally allured to almost everything to a certain extent. For example, right now I’m pretty keen on different cultures and languages and trying to improve my understanding of modern politics.

Thank you for paying your attention to my self-presentation, I believe, all of us will learn so much new during this course, can’t wait to see you there.

Hi, my name is Tania, I`m studying General Medicine. Originally I`m from Ufa, Russia, but I have lived in Czech Republic for more than five years. If you study medicine you just cannot be indifferent to this field because it requires so many resources and time from your life... So, only the strongest ones remain at the end of this long path. I`m planning to become a surgeon after the graduation, but I`m not really sure right now about more precise specialisation - maybe microsurgery. I`ve studied medicine not only here, but I`ve already been on Erasmus in France for half of year - it was unforgettable and unique experience for me. But my life consists of not only study - and hospital`s part-time job - but also certain hobbies like plant cultivation, painting and cooking. I also have two pets - these rats on the picture. They are my personal antistress.

Hi! I'm Bára from Brno, I am 20 years old and I study Journalism and International Relations at the Faculty of Social Studies. One of my biggest passion in my life is music - I was playing piano and flute for many years, singing, dancing,... That is probably the reason why I am also studying at the Conservatory in Brno. My main field (instrument) here is dulcimer (maybe you know it as a cimbalom :) I'm also very into (outdoor) sport, all kind of adventure and traveling.

Well.. all these points I am trying to describe myself with I have found in Colorado. I spent there almost 2 months this summer and I have to say that this super adventurous, high (elevated), beautiful and full of music country was and still is very inspirational for me.

The photo is from the peak Court House mtn. in south Colorado- one of my most emotional moment I have ever experienced (and almost 4000m high :)

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Martin, I'm still 19 years old (everyone says I'm too young) and I'm studying musicology and mathematics at the Faculty of Education. People often say that my study combination is weird, but I assure you that I have a subject called Harmony and there is more mathematics in it than in subjects like Algebra and Mathematical Analysis combined. And anyone who has ever played a musical instrument knows that counting notes is not easy. I signed up for this course because my English is at a lousy level and I hope to go to Erasmus, so I'm trying to prepare myself for that. In my spare time I like to watch films, play the piano, guitar or trumpet and I'm also a scout leader so I lead a troop of wolf cubs.I took this picture when I was in Brno for the first time. I was taking my college entrance exams that day and this is probably my first photo of Brno. Yeah, strangling bear.
