All states in the US should defund the police and use those funds to hire trained professionals that work within their forces. This must be done because the police were never meant to solve, or trained to solve, all societies problems. According to the article in ProCon.org even the former Dallas Police Chief David Brown agrees stating, “We’re just asking us to do too much. Every societal failure, we put it off for the cops to solve. That’s too much to ask. Policing was never meant to solve all those problems.” (Samuel 7). Mental health or disability issues, domestic violence issues, and even non-violent crimes like addiction are not solvable with force, which is the primary way police interact with citizens. My own best friend who was suicidal needed professional mental health help but the only people we could call when she was in crisis was the police. I often wonder if she would still be alive if there had been another option.

Guns should be taken away from people because it's not safe. This should be done because people are murdering other people with guns. In the article Magazine it states, “Last week, nine people were killed by AR-15 fire in Indianapolis; before that, 10 died in Boulder, and eight in Atlanta.” (Paragraph 1) . Guns don’t help society, a lot of people shoot people with guns and hurt other which is not good. There were 11 people that lost their life to getting shot in 3 days in Atlanta. Guns should be taken away from people that have criminal records.

Gun laws in this country should not be increased, as it goes against the fundamentals that were established as part of the second amendment.
After having drafted and ratified the Constitution, the Founding Fathers felt so strongly about this, that they established the right to bear arms as second only to items such as the freedom of speech, press and peaceful assembly.
When considering the text of the bills that have been presented, it becomes clear that those drafting such legislation have little knowledge or experience with firearms. Evidence of this is plainly visible, when looking the items that they are attempting to regulate. For instance, expandable stocks have frequently been a target of gun legislation, in the belief that it is an "assault" characteristic. In truth, expandable stocks allow for a gun's overall length to be customized, so that it is both more comfortable to the user, as well as allowing a greater level of control while wielding the firearm. The length that can be comfortable held by a 6'5" person, is not the same length that will be comfortable for a 5'2" person.
Another item that has faced the spectre of a governmental ban, is the fore-grip attachment.
Again, this is simply an attachment that affixes to the underside of a firearm, which allows for your wrist to be more comfortable while holding and firing. It does not make the gun "more dangerous" and has been used as a boogeyman tactic to instil fear over a harmless piece of plastic or metal.
When viewing attempts at legislation through the lense of firearm ownership and knowledge, it makes one ask "why"? Why would they push for legislation to ban attachments that improve comfort and usability, while not providing any measureable amount of safety?

Gun control laws should be increased in the United States for many reasons and one of the reasons is that too much death is happening because of guns, and if gun control were increased then less death would happen because there would be less access to weapons that could kill someone in a faster time than they can react to. This also shows that a lot of people abuse their ability to bear arms for a wrong reason, either to kill others or themselves, as 60% of deaths from guns have been from suicides, as statistics from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System (WISQARS) Fatal Injury Reports shows.

In the article “The Second Amendment & the Right to Bear Arms "by Ched Brooks it states, “James Madison originally proposed the Second Amendment shortly after the Constitution was officially ratified as a way to provide more power to state militias, which today are considered the National Guard...Having just used guns and other arms to ward off the English, the amendment was originally created to give citizens the opportunity to fight back against a tyrannical federal government.” (Page 1).

You might be wondering or thinking that this quote has nothing to do with my claim, but it does. When James Madison originally created the Second Amendment it was so the states National Guard would be armed and could have more power to fight back a Tyrannical government, not so everyone could have unlimited gun rights. This tells us only some people should be allowed to carry guns, and we should only use them for safety against a horrible government if it comes to that. By allowing less gun access to people it will make history by making the number of deaths by gun violence decrease in the United States. Statistics from 2015 to 2019 by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System (WISQARS) Fatal Injury Reports, show that the average deaths from guns are around 38826 per year because there is still a lot of reports that have not been shown, but we should work on making that 38826+ deaths to 0, for the better of this country. This would allow us to focus on other high concerning issues in theses United States like depression, poverty, and other things, and for those people saying that gun control laws shouldn’t be increase still do you not care for the wellbeing of others? Do you not care for those people killing other people every day with guns? Do you not care for those people killing themselves with a gun, because you should, you should care for others life.
