Solar energy is created by nuclear fusion that takes place in the sun. This fusion occurs when protons from hydrogen atoms collide violently into the nucleus of the sun and fuse to create a helium atom. This process, known as the PP (proton-proton) chain reaction, emits an enormous amount of energy. At its core, the sun fuses millions of metric tons of hydrogen per second.

The way the energy is generated is by steams, the steams come from reservoirs of hot water, below the earth surface, then the steam rotates in a turbine to active a generator and finally produces electricity. Some equipment used to obtain the energy besides the steams and the water is that there are necessary resources from medium or high temperatures that are located in tectional regions. Places such as Iceland and New Zealand cover a significant share of this type of energy (most Iceland).
