Why did I choose this topic?

This topic was chosen because I can see some of the students I work with in Kindergarten not understanding what rhyming is, and how it works. Maybe if we, educators, can make learning more fun and interactive students will be more likely to comprehend the content we've taught!

Read the following activity. I would do the activity mentioned previously after having read "Rhyming Dust Bunnies" by Jan Thomas and explaining what rhyming is. Then I would go over a few more examples until I felt the students understood the content.

If necessary, for the activity I would whisper a rhyming word into the students ear, let them act it out and have the other students guess. That way everyone is included, not just the students who can think of a rhyming word. This would be good for younger students or students who are struggling with the content.
