Human rights in the Pandemic.

Some folks have it easier than others. To survive, some individuals must do things they would never do otherwise. This health catastrophe is fast escalating into a human rights issue. In the middle of the epidemic, everyone on the world is fighting to cope and survive. We've seen how the virus doesn't discriminate, but its consequences do, exposing significant problems in public service management as well as structural disparities that make them difficult to get.

The Philippines is one of the worst-affected countries. Who suffers the most, why, and what can be done are all obvious.

We are seeing uneven effects on certain populations, an increase in hate speech, targeting of vulnerable groups, and the dangers of strict security measures compromising health responses. When ethno-nationalism, populism, authoritarianism, and a reaction against human rights are on the rise in some nations, the epidemic can be used to justify severe measures that are unrelated to the outbreak. This can't continue endlessly. The best approach is one that effectively reacts to current dangers while also preserving human rights and the rule of law. More than ever before, governments must be transparent, responsive, and accountable. The ideal strategy is one that responds effectively to contemporary difficulties while still protecting human rights and the rule of law. In the future, we must re-establish ourselves. The human-rights-based Sustainable Development Goals serve as a basis for more inclusive and sustainable economies and societies. Improving economic and social rights contributes to long-term resilience. Future generations' rights must also be safeguarded, with enhanced climate action aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and preserving biodiversity. This is a collaborative effort on our side. The virus threatens everyone. Human rights benefit everyone. In this moment of crisis, we will defend human rights in order to develop more effective and inclusive solutions for today's crisis and tomorrow's recovery.
