If the VSD is large, the extra blood being pumped into the lung arteries makes the heart and lungs work harder and the lungs can become congested.<br><br>For a child with minor ASD, he can carry on with his daily activities with not much risk involved. But if a child is affected with atrial septal defect(ASD) the oxygenated blood on the left and deoxygenated blood on the right will mixe this thus this may affect the amonut of oxygen pump around the body.<br>As the heart system is stated, if a child is affected with venticular septal defect(VSD) the affect would be the same as ASD.<br>A child would feel more tired easily than normal due to the lack of oxygen pump aroung the body. The effects of ASD would be the enlargement of right heart that may have the risk of having right heart failure, heart rhythm disturbances, stroke and pulmonary hypertension which means the high blood pressure in the arteries that supply blood to the lungs and lastly the leaking of tricuspid and bicuspid valves.&nbsp;<br><br>2. The effects of VSD are similar to the effects of ASD. When a person is diagnosed with VSD, blood can travel from the left ventricle to the right ventricle and to the lung arteries. Hence when a person has a VSD that is big, the excess blood that is pumped into the lung arteries caused both the lungs and the heart to work harder, and&nbsp;<br>subsequently the lungs can also become congested.&nbsp;<br><br>3. There will be differences between a child with ASD and a normal child. Differences will be that the child with ASD will have difficulties in breathing and the heart will also not be able to pump as much blood that is oxygenated to other parts of the body.
