I wrote up the feedback from the survey monkey results and then the feedback for the focus groups we carried out. All results and focus groups were sent to Chloe for her to complete. On Thursday, we had our screening and I recorded the feedback and wrote it up to finish the project. I was disappointed that our director did not turn up to the screening as she was very excited to show off her work until she saw the online survey results. I did my best to tell the audience what the idea was and what her interpretation was for the video, however, I found this difficult as I didn't fully understand the interpretation. Next time, I will ensure I fully understand the idea and why it is the way it is.
The comments made during all of the feedback helped me know what others would want to see in a music video and what aspects worked within our music video and what didn't. I now know that I will need to communicate ideas early on to avoid this feedback at then end. I used my confidence and pitching skills learnt from the beginning of this project to present our music video in front of the three media classes as well as other media teachers. I am proud of myself for stepping in for the director at the screening and doing my best to carry her idea forward in a way I thought she would of. However, I am not proud of the feedback we got as we got limited positives compared to others before. In addition, watching others music videos helped me see what I was interested in and what I liked in music videos. I presented my feedback write ups in word documents with a Harvard bibliography to link the footage. As well as this, we showed our music video on the big screen but the director did not export the video at the right size. To improve I would carry out more focus groups to get more feedback and could've liked to get some feedback rom different Agee and other students from different subjects. 
Overall, I am proud of the work I put into this project. I was never fully interested in the idea but I kept with it and I think the outcome is something we should all be proud of. As a team, we work well. I managed to expand on my After Affects skills by working alongside Gabbie by making feathers move in the wind for a filler shot. I learnt how to rotate different points on the subject and move their key positions to make it look like it is floating now smoothly and not robotic. 
Unfortunately, as a group we faced a barrier as Kirsten went off the topic of the music video which lead to a little bit of confusion within the group. We needed to share the work equally so we decided to have a quick discussion with her to make sure we were all on the right track and knew what everyone in the group was doing. We all settled that we would use this week to finish the video and the following week to get feedback. Tensions rose within the group however, I quickly jumped into action and called a group meeting to resolve the situations before it got out of hand. Again, we all agreed to work through to the end and a difference was seen between us in the fact Kirsten was contributing how she had at the start. I am proud with the way I handled matters and I am glad we got the music video completed in time to get feedback and reflect on it. Furthermore, Kirsten created a questionnaire to use in the focus groups we plan to undergo next week, whilst Gabbie and I created an online survey using SurveyMonkey and published it on our social medias ready to write up the feedback next week. Due to weather conditions, we decided as a team not to come into college on the Thursday as it would have been a rough journey for us all as we live far out and the roads were unsafe. I feel as though I need to improve my skills a little bit more on After Affects as I skill don't feel confident using the programme. I think this is because I am so used to using Premiere Pro or Final Cut.

Some of the stencils done over half term had been changed and we then realised some stencils that were needed had been left out. for example, baby rabbit stencils. From this, I have learnt that we need to make sure we have checklists to stick to, to avoid confusion or panic. 
For this week, I found using after effects helped my skill development within the programme. Despite this, I still need to experiment on this programme as I am not yet 100% confident. Gabbie and I edited scenes 9 and 10and we shared the work out equally. Whilst we did these scenes, Chloe and Kirsten edited scenes 1-4 and 5-6. I feel as those these scenes were far more simpler to mine and Gabbie's scenes as we had to keep switching the rabbit portraits out to fit the way they were moving and stopping. For example, when the rabbits moved, we used the side view of them and when they stopped we had to replace the side view with a front view and make sure it was perfectly in time with the rabbit stopping. These scenes were also very long winded. Due to some problems and changed made in the video, the storyboard became hard to follow. as a result of this, Gabbie and I redid the storyboard to make things a lot clearer whilst Chloe carried on editing. This week, we faced a few unexpected barriers. A barrier we faced was our camera operator deciding to go home and failing to make us aware. this meant Chloe was left to finish off work left behind. Next time they should ensure they keep in good contact with all members of the team. I need to improve my skills in After Effects but I feel with more time using it, I will get better and understand more techniques. I need to be patient with this program as I find it glitchy. When we came in, we all agreed the week before when and where for us to start creating the stencils for our animation. Unfortunately, Our director chloe left after 2 hours of work, making the statement that she needed to go. Despite this being arranged in advance. Following on, me gabbie and kirsten stayed to complete the work. Hiwever, not long after Chloe went, kirsten also went home. But she had compelted all that she needed to, as far as we were aware. Gabbie and I stayed until 3pm and we got the majority of the stencils done. 
I completed 4 rabbit stencils, hand drawn and then textures added through photoshop. I feel as though chloe and kirsten couldve helped out more when it came to creating the characters. Due to chloe leaving, i was unaware that i missed some characters out which means I will do them when back at college. 
For work experience, I attended two seminars in DisneyLand, which looked into the ways disney advertise and create profits in certain areas. This helped me see how they spread their content over different platforms and target specific audiences to get the best response which is similar to what I will need to do when getting feedback on FMP and during this music video project. 
I used my knowledge of adding layers onto photoshop to create good textures on the characters. I already knew how to do this but needed to reteach myself to get familar with the programme again.

To begin with, we set our individual job roles out and then had a team meeting, discussing the whole idea to ensure we all understood it. I am thew producer of the group which I am very happy with. To start with, I did not fully understand the idea, I was nominated to draw out some of the images from the storyboard and I did not fully understand how they linked or what was meant to happen. However, I overcome this by following the directors instructions with it and trying to understand it as best I could.
The activity that helped me this week was when we started to test out the stop-motion. We had previously drawn and cut out a few small stencils and Dave had kindly set up a workplace area for us. Once we got into the room and set up the lighting we needed, I instantly saw issues. Thankfully, I feel as though we all saw them. The room was incredibly small and we had planned to have 4 lights in the room with us etc, the space was far too limited. Despite the issue with space, we tested out the stop-motion and again, we found the problem that the lighting was flickering, and we did not have enough time. I decided to time how long it takes to get one second of work. This gave us our answer that we needed a backup idea if this one falls through. I have learnt that it takes 24 frames to create one second of animation using stop-motion, and when timed, it takes 2 minutes to get one second of work.
I used my skills from doing the in depth contingency plan and the skills of being a producer to fully ensure we have covered all grounds. I do not want my group starting production unprepared. This is what pushed me into suggesting we do the animation on a computer instead of stencils due to time, space and equipment. As well as this, doing it on the computer will make it look more professional in my opinion.

As last week my plate smashing experiment did not go fully to plan, I got another plate and tested it. Unfortunately the motion room was unavailable to use for this test. I got permission to do it outside on the college premises and found it did not smash as well on concrete. I was oddly surprised to this as it smashed so easy from a standard height in the motion room without any force but this plate took three attempts at different heights and forces. I have learnt from this that it depends on what the surface and force is to get a particular kind of smash, for me the smash didn't go how i wanted it as it only broke into two pieces and a few other little ones that went all over the place whereas in the motion room previously, it kept mostly in one place and it broke into a lot of pieces which is what i ideally want. 
I completed my test shoot by thinking about why it wasn't working when i first dropped the plate and finding the way it would break. I feel as though it needs to be tested again in the right location but this gave me the chance to evaluate how the testing what for my presentation. I used my new skills on testing with plate smash and now understanding that the surfaces make a bigger difference that i thought this is something i will be able to refer back on during fmp and the making of any project in the future.
 A friend filmed my test for me to present on my padlet presentation. I presented my test shoots on my mind map padlet wall to show my development. As well as this, I presented my pitch using my padlet wall as my platform. I discussed each bullet point and it allowed the class to see my development and the changes I have made through the process. 
I will work on my contingency plans. I feel as though I could have planned the test shoots better and prepared to face barriers. I would also like to improve my speaking skills as I found myself shaking due to being in front of the class but I think with time I will overcome this fear.

However, I found that i had no idea on how it would flow or be made to get a final outcome. Due to this I listened to some more songs from the 70's and i found Go your own way by fleetwood Mac. Whilst listening to the song, I came up with a new idea which had a beginning middle and end. I came up with some filler shot ideas began testing. I tested out smashing a plate, I had 2 cameras, one for doing stop motion of the smash and another for normal recording. Unfortunately, the video camera, i was relying on the most, stopped recording and missed the plate smashing. I only bought one plate to test so I will need to re-shoot this. Another test I carried out was paper blowing in the air, this was surprisingly difficult as the wind needed to be a certain strength and I think the paper was too heavy - I will need to re shoot using tissue paper as the wind might be able to carry it better. 
On Thursday, I was told to be creative and make a surrealist video of making tea. This task really tested my creativity and as we were under a time limit it meant I had to think quickly and creately with the objects I had available. My group instantly thought big and bold. Due to this, i needed to step up and remind my team that we did not have the time to do something too big. We needed to keep it simple but creative. We did our video in stop motion which worked to some ability but had a lot issues when it came to moving the objects off the table andgetting an angle which avoided seeing any hands in it. 
We completed the task after a few stressful moments, our set got moved due to a college talk being held within our original location which pushed us for time and some of our idea needed to be scrapped. I found our team getting stressed out of a very small project but we overcame the struggles together. This task made me think creatively in a way I might not have thought of before. I think the time limit on the task pushed me to my abilities and allowed me to show what i was capable of. I found keeping to a tight time limit meant we did not have time to stress or think too much about the little details. 
I have presented my music video idea development on a padlet wall. The wall consists of two ideas, my original idea is in red and my new finalised idea is in green. The presentation is a good way to show my development and I will be adding the test shoots on the wall to show my experimentation. 
I need to work on keeping things simple but allowing myself to step back from the 'rule book'  and let my creativity flow but know when to not over complicate things. I also need to work on camera angles. I feel as though even if the idea is simple to put together, the camera angles and editing will make the difference.

I also discussed the fashion and world affairs in each era. I found this research really helpful as it allowed me to look into the eras and see what was happening and comparing it to now. This also helped me see what music was during each era which helped me choose my favourite era from the 50's - 70's. From this task, I didn't realise how many songs were for world affairs happening at the time which I thought was good to know as there could be a protest song I could recreate for my video to show my views or if it is an issue still going on today. In addition, we edited our green screen footage which allowed me to learn a new skill on after affects. I have not used after affects much before so this was good for me to explore the tools on the programme and use green screen for the first time. Following on, I completed my essay however, my planning document got corrupted which meant I lost half of it. After this, I have learnt to always check my work has been saved in more than one place and for it to always be saved on OneDrive. I presented my essay in a 1500 word count. I also added images of the fashion of each era down the side, with all images and sites used Harvard referenced at the bottom. In addition, my green screen edits were published to youtube. I have learnt to always save my work in more than one place and always use One Drive. As well as this, I have learnt to not over complicate my sentences. I personally found it difficult to keep to the word count. I am known to write more than expected so the low word count was a struggle to not go over. The green screen experiment workshop with Dave was very helpful, i have not had the chance to use the green screen before and I hope to use this technique again in the future. next week i will edit what I acted out in the green screen room and will then know if the green screen i would pursue in. I have began looking into the different music video styles and have written up my understandings of the styles which will help with my research and my development of my music video idea. I have used my previous research skills on the techniques powerpoint and applied my knowledge from there for my understanding with the styles. I have used my new knowledge from the green screen experiment by learning about the room and where to position subjects and the camera angles to work for the scene. I presented my research in a powerpoint document. i would improve my animation and editing skills when editing my green screen work next week.

I annotated the client's brief to show my understanding of the task set for this unit. I researched the different techniques used in music videos nowadays and looked into the techniques used in different eras. From this, i no whale a clear understanding of the techniques used, such as cutting to the beat and I understand that this is a common technique and if i want to use it in mine, i need to remember not to do it too often or my video will become repetitive. In addition, i have looked into the purposes of music videos today to help me when I plan to make my own music video. Following on, I created a survey monkey to get some feedback on what people think of music videos and how or why they watch them. However, when I uploaded the survey monkey to my Facebook page, the server went down and no one could get access to the survey. i removed the post and tried again a few days later, but this still did not work. I went into the town and got two box pops audio recorded, asking similar questions from my survey - I still need to get the 1:1 interviews done and a focus group. I am hoping to get this done in the first week back as my family members do not want to be filmed or recorded. When creating the box pops, i worked within a group and did four. however, the operator made a mistake when recording and two were recorded as a time-lapse which meant they could not be used. This was a barrier for us as it meant we lost two very good box pops attempts but we can no longer use due to technical difficulties. This has limited my feedback and I do not have the time to refilm. Another issue i faced was the survey monkey not working. This was out of my control and i could not recover thework  to get my feedback. I am proud of the powerpoint i started, but I will need to finish this off over my break off. 
The vox pops were created via video, the survey monkey was an online link and my techniques research is in the form of the powerpoint. In addition, the annotations of the brief has been done on a previewed image. 
From this, I would improve my box pop making skills in talking to members of the public and being okay to take charge. I feel as though two of us should record the box pop in case of a technical difficulty.
