This website gave me a lot of information about the process and also gave detailed definitions of key words. Although i didn't find the information extremely helpful and would have preferred there to be links to other more focussed websites.

This website had much more information and the layout was very efficient, i could easily find information i wanted like fees and courses.

In the last few years drones have become increasingly more usual in the video industry as they allow for dynamic shots although because of the price of the equipment and the unique abilities of flying them there are fewer drone operators and it is a business i would be interested in as a hobby and part of a job. Charlie set me up on a Mac editing nativity videos shot at primary schools last week. My task for the day was to do as much editing as possible. The editing involved cutting between 3 cameras, one of these cameras was a "static" camera which never moved, usually propped up at the back of the room high enough that nobody could move in front of it or obscure the view of the stage. The other two cameras were operated by James and Charlie, James camera is a newer, higher resolution  camera and there for gave better content and video. My main focus was to make sure as many of Jame's shots were in there as these were the most professional. So when i couldn't get a good angle with his camera or he wasn't capturing the right moments in the play i would swap to Charlie's and if his wasn't suitable then back to the static camera that videoed the entire stage, this happened on multiple occasions. I have developed the ability to swap between cameras on editing software, as well as having time to get to use Premier Pro a editing software i had never sued before but quickly got the grip of. Although editing isn't my forte i was very impressed with the out come of the day as i had fully edited one 30 minute video as well as getting half way through another. James gave me a run through in the car of the ways he encourages key clients like schools to recommend his company to others. He did this by asking hem if they would recommend them next year, giving them a business card and checking he has their details for next year. Schools are key clients as they have a huge network as well as having shows which are annual such as christmas concerts and musicals. We then traveled to Forest Hall School in Stansted where James is a mentor to students and he thought it would be interesting to bring me along as i originally went to the high school and it also gave a good insight into the type of activities you include yourself in which will help and support you in expanding your network. When i was back in the office I edited a music video for PianoDJ - a company one door down from the office. This company specialises in a mixture of music styles including jazz mixed with DJ remixes , while still playing new songs. I also suggested to James that we sorted out the office in a sort of a clean out as he had had trouble finding 3 documents a few minutes apart. We organised and sorted the office and i put away and collect equipment and put them in the right bags. The drone I'm currently flying has a small camera so i will be experimenting with this in the winter months and coming into spring when the weather begins to brighten up. Me, Charlie and James all did this to speed up the process as there was over 200 pots of jam. I was then given the task of editing a two business promo videos, one being full length and the other being the 40 seconds version. The task and challenge was to remove a former business partner from MTA from the videos as he was in them a fair amount doing speeches, I then would replace the clip of him talking with videos of the new partner James. I encountered a few problems while editing these videos but they were fairly simplistic, i encountered a problem where the former editor had not put the right names down on certain speakers titles. I had to change this as it was unprofessional to anyone in the know. 
James had ordered a new iPad 2 for networking purposes, since i had a lot of experience with apple products and iPads i was given the task of setting it up after he had done the initial start up. I was trying to get the iPad to sync with the Macs in the office so we could airdrop content between devices. Although this proved difficult as the iPad and the Mac both tried to connect to various devices through out the building when i opened the bluetooth making the connection poor. I'm still trying to complete this process and we will try again next week. I also had a task which was continuous throughout the day and that was to check the numbers of the missed calls to the office phone, I did this so that James knew who to call back and if it was a scam or automated call instead of a person. 

Next week will be signing off all my work experience documents with James, he said that me and him are going to have a discussion about my work with HNE Media as he has been continuously impressed through my work experience. ]]> 2017-01-17 09:53:13 UTC https://padlet.com/matthewreevearnold/7fi36f277cn8/wish/147480251 matthewreevearnold https://padlet.com/matthewreevearnold/7fi36f277cn8/wish/149540613 Our main task of the day was to set up the auto cue unit as well as the green screen/chroma key and lights for a promotional video being filmed in the office. The promo video was for Karim Ullah, he owns a authentic pop up indian restaurant called the "Brohmon" at a pub near Thorley. His restaurant specialises in authentic indian cuisine. He wanted a video where he spoke not the camera so we utilised the auto cue. An auto cue is a fitting which attaches to a camera and tripod. It uses double sided glass and a iPad to create words reflected on to the glass which has the camera directly behind it, therefore the individual can just read their script of the screen/glass while they look directly into the camera. 
We made a few adjustments to the script because the wording was wrong in some areas as well as the paragraphs being too fast for the speaker. When Karim came in we had a discussion about what he wanted from today and if he was okay with how we had set everything up, we also ran through the auto cue and how it will be used to help with the video. Apart from generally main sure the camera and tripod as well as auto cue were in the correct position, my main job was to start the auto cue and help the client with the script and projecting. After the video had been filmed with had to take a few shots of the food he had brought along and then as a thank you he offered us samples to eat there and ran through which each of the dishes was. 
After the client had left I took down the equipment and packed it away for the move on wednesday 25th when they move to their new office. 
Afterwards James (Owner of the company) asked me to stay behind as this was the end of my work experience and he needed to talk to me about something. It turned out that i had impressed him and that he wanted to bring me on to the team as a freelance video production, social media and marketing/sales assistant. Obviously i was over joyed about this opportunity as being able to get into the business at the age of 18 is extremely difficult. 

Outlook and review of work experience:
The way i carried out my work experience was not of a inexperienced student trying to get experience. I showed myself as a already qualified individual from the start, i "doorstepped him" (A term used usually in the media industry when looking for jobs, you appear at the business/company and display yourself) , he was impressed from the start. I believe my confidence and knowledge of the industry earned me the job he has given me.
