This line intrigued me. I feel like it means that the Nazi’s  were “Hunting the Jews.“ like animals. I really like that line because it shows (if you read the book you'll get it) how Peter knows what is right for his heart, his mind, and himself. And I think Pax feels and sees this quote in the same way.
