This is what you will feel when you see an overseas friend that you had never see them before. Happy and have lots of fun with them in a short period of time. unfortunately, as time passes, the bond fades off very fast. Distance is the main culprit of this as we don’t really see each other every day. From strangers to friends like extended family to strangers. the only thing left is just memories. In the form of pictures and cards that were gifts from them but became a symbol to that particular moment.

It’s about fortifying bonds with someone else and choosing them to become a part of you, a part of the family you chose for yourself. As the saying goes, ‘the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb’. The friends you choose to surround yourself with can reflect so much about yourself.
That being said, the bonds that you once thought was unbreakable is now weakened with outside variables like distance. From family to strangers, best friends to acquaintances, the promise you once had faded away, leaving you with nothing but the memories left behind.
The pile of unglamorous photos, the weird little trinkets, the mess of many handwritten letters are a part of the legacy of your once everlasting friendship. It has or will become a part of you in this house of memories.

Photographs, capturing the times you spent together, replaying just like a movie. Cards with heartfelt words, reminding you that they treasure you, just like family. But are they really family?

One factor can change it all;
Distance.

Time goes by and life goes on. Eventually, the closeness you once had with them gets further apart and you’re back to square one. Strangers again. 
 
 Thinking about all those moments, all that you’re left with are just memories.

Nothing but memories. Does friendship cease to exist?
