         <description><![CDATA[<div>7.  Free Social Studies Worksheets (Math has a better variety of sources on this site)<br><a href="https://www.edhelper.com/Social_Studies.htm">https://www.edhelper.com/Social_Studies.htm</a><br>This tool was designed for teachers and parents who needed a source to develop materials required for testing the knowledge and skill area of math. There are free printable worksheets available. You also have the option to build your own worksheets from the site and then print them off. Some of the unique features incorporated are timed quizzes and math decoding for students. <strong>UDL Checkpoints:<br></strong><strong><em>Representation- </em></strong>Checkpoint 1.1: Offer ways of customizing the display of information- This source allows worksheets to be presented in different forms. You may choose from crossword puzzles, multiple choice questions, word math problems etc. <br><br></div><div>Checkpoint 2.3: Support decoding of text, mathematical notation, and symbols- There are teaching tools used in this site to show you the logical breakdown is for mathematical problems. These styles are mentioned and sourced by certified educators. </div><div><br><strong><em>Engagement-</em></strong>Checkpoint 7.1: Optimize individual choice and autonomy- Students have multiple options to choose from. The delivery should be given as a choice to the student to complete and will help with the motivation to complete assignments. <br>Checkpoint 8.4: Increase mastery-orientated feedback- Just like taking a test or quiz, there is always feedback that can be presented. The student should be able to see the answers from the assignment and ask questions to gain clarity. <br><strong><em><br>Action of Expression-</em></strong>Checkpoint 5.2: Use multiple tools for construction and competition- As mentioned before, the website has several options in the format of the math lessons. Students may also use calculators if permitted. <br><br>8. Math Games<br><a href="https://www.mathgames.com/">https://www.mathgames.com/</a><br>Math Games is a source of math tools that helps grades Prekindergarten to 8th grade. The site contains over 15 digital math games to help with practice, generalization, and mastery of level of math. The site focuses on games, skill level, and worksheets catered to each student for every level they are own up until the 8th grade. Most importantly, the site is trusted and free to the public. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints:<br></strong><strong><em>Engagement:</em></strong>Checkpoint 8.1: Heighten salience of goals and objectives-The Math Games website correlates math assignments that are Common Core Standards. This means that the math presented on the site is the same materials that the students will be tested on. <br>Checkpoint 8.2: Vary demands and resources to optimize challenge- there are worksheets, games, and quizzes for each skill level and for every grade. <strong><br></strong><strong><em>Representation:</em></strong><strong><br></strong>Checkpoint 2.5: Illustrate through multiple media- In addition to the variety of games. the site offers a digital form of textbook.  <strong><br></strong><strong><em>Action and Expression:</em></strong><strong><br></strong>Checkpoint 5.3: Build fluencies with graduated levels of support for practice and performance- Math games has access to all different levels of learning. If the student is not challenged with math on specific skill and grade level, they can adjust the meter for learning. Also, each completed assignment, quiz, and task may be reviewed at any given time. <br>9. Prodigy <br><a href="https://www.prodigygame.com/">https://www.prodigygame.com/</a><br>Prodigy is a source used by teachers, parents, and students. It is completely free and can be used in both the school and at home. Prodigy provides games for math students form 1st grade to 8th grade. Although the site is noted for games, it also allows the data to be collected and kept of file for access to the teacher or parent. Prodigy also allows differentiation among skill levels based on the student's progress. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints:</strong><br><strong><em>Engagement:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 7.2: Optimize relevance, value, and authenticity- there are different games that a provided that meet the level of criteria specific to each skill level. <br>Checkpoint 8.4: Increase mastery-orientated feedback- While playing math games is fun, the source does show the percentage of accuracy at the end of each completed game. <br><strong><em>Representation:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 3.2: Highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas, and relationships- adults may see a pattern of areas that need to be addressed based off of data that the site keeps for each student. This will then determine what level needs to be addressed or what skill level needs to be addressed. <br><strong><em>Actions and Expressions:</em></strong><br>Checkpoint 5.3: Build fluencies with graduated levels of support for practice and performance- there is a data tracking source that shows the deficit areas of math for the student. The teacher/parent may take this data and apply differential learning to best fit the learner's needs. <br><br>10. Math is Fun<br><a href="https://www.mathsisfun.com/">https://www.mathsisfun.com/</a><br>Math is Fun was designed to help students in math from kindergarten up to the precalculas level. There are several learning tools used from games, worksheets, dictionaries, measuring tools, and quizzes. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints:<br></strong><strong><em>Engagement:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 7.2: Optimize relevance, value, and authenticity- students are given the freedom to choose which task they want to complete. This site helps educators and parents, but the students can access this site as well using valid log in information. <strong><em><br>Representation:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 2.1: Clarify vocabulary and symbols- there is a dictionary that is provided and includes a breakdown of the meanings. <br>Checkpoint 2.4: Promote understanding across languages- this site has over 20 different languages to choose from all at the click of a button. <br>Checkpoint 2.5: Illustrate through multiple media- the site can be shared on Facebook, twitter, email, pinterest, etc.  </div><div><strong><em>Actions and Expressions:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 5.1: Use multiple media for communication- along with the different forms of learning, activities may be shared across various platforms. <br>Checkpoint 5.2: Use multiple tools for construction and competition-the site has measuring tools, quizzes, data sheets, graphs, and worksheets all just to name a few different tools that are available for learning. </div>]]></description>

Biblionasium<br><a href="https://www.biblionasium.com/#tab/content-spring-picks">https://www.biblionasium.com/#tab/content-spring-picks</a><br>Biblionasium is a website used to help and motivate students to read. The core concept is to provide online materials to students that they can access at home on a computer or tablet, and engaged with other students withing their community. This site offers support to educators and parents to keep students engaged with reading materials.  This is a free source and just requires registration. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints:</strong><br><strong><em>Representation:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 1.1: Offer ways of customizing the display of information- the site has different forms of reading materials, from an online library to reading logs that is easy to access. <br><strong><em>Engagement:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 7.3: Minimize threats and distractions- this site has won academic award in 2013 and has been certified in safety for student's use. <br>Checkpoint 8.2: Vary demands and resources to optimize challenge-not only can you connect to the reading materials assigned to you classroom but there also is a reading log that is updated along with your student's progress. <strong><em><br>Action and Expression:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 4.2: Optimize access to tools and assistive technologies- this social network is a platform for students to be able to connect with reading while using technology to do so. <br>Checkpoint 6.2: Support planning and strategy development-the website allows you to download your class reading list to utilize at home for reading materials. <br><br>5. Freerice<br><a href="https://freerice.com/">https://freerice.com/</a><br>Freerice is a website designed to help with literature. Freerice offers reading materials on current events such as the Covid-19 as well as synonyms for words. The purpose of the game for this site is when you get the correct answer, you earn rice in a bowl. After the bowl is completed by answering several questions, a bowl of rice is then donated to a country in need of food. There is no money needed to be donated on your end, it is just a way to feed the hungry people while learning. <br><br><strong>UDL Checkpoints:<br></strong><strong><em>Representation:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 1.2: Offer alternatives for auditory information- there are plenty of visual aids available with pictures, pop ups, videos, and visual representation of progress. <br>Checkpoint 2.4: Promote understanding across languages-This website can be translated into 6 different languages. <strong><em><br>Engagement:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 8.1: Heighten salience of goals and objectives- while donating food to poor countries is awesome, understanding the level your student is on will help with the delivery of materials, set up goals, and execute their skill level to mastery satisfaction. <br><strong><em>Action and Expression:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 6.1: Guide appropriate goal-setting- the learning level for this site starts at easy and goes all the way up to hardest. The level will highlight in green to show current progress. <br><br>6. Fact Monster<br><a href="https://www.factmonster.com/features/all-about-books">https://www.factmonster.com/features/all-about-books</a><br>Fact Monster is a website designed for students from the 1st grade up through the 8th grade. Fact Monster offers different learning tools from articles, books, quizzes, games, and worksheets. This site offers more than just reading but we will focus on the reading for this portion. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoint:</strong><br><strong><em>Representation:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 1.2: Offer alternatives for auditory information- at the top of the search engine is a small microphone that allows you to talk into the microphone to search the information you need. Some of the books give you an option to be read aloud. <br>Checkpoint 3.3: Guide information processing, visualization, and manipulation-the site allow you to see the materials you have read, the progress that you are making, and offers suggestive materials based on your search engine. <br><strong><em>Engagement:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 8.2: Vary demands and resources to optimize challenge- this site is more than just reading articles and books. There are flashcards, crossword puzzles, and worksheets available to enhance the learning. <br>Checkpoint 9.3: Develop self-assessment and reflection- the site allows you to see the progress of the student and help determine the level and or material that needs to be delivered based off of skill need. </div><div><strong><em>Action and Expression:<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 5.3: Build fluencies with graduated levels of support for practice and performance-there are several opportunities to make sure that the material is being learned with taking quizzes and completing worksheets. Teachers and parents can monitor the progress of the student. </div>]]></description>

History for Kids <br><a href="https://www.historyforkids.net/">https://www.historyforkids.net/</a><br><br>History for Kids is an online tool set up to help students with the subject of social studies. In the website, you will find several tools that can include articles, worksheets, and quizzes at the end of each section. In addition to the materials for learning are fun games, videos, and worksheets. History may be boring to some students, but this website was designed for learners to have fun while learning history from all over the world. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints:</strong></div><div><strong><em>Engagement- </em></strong>Checkpoint 7.1: Optimize individual choice and autonomy- the students have many different opportunities to self explore the free website. It is easy to navigate and has several options to choose/learn from. <br>Checkpoint 8.4: Increase mastery-orientated feedback- this tool offers worksheets to help with comprehension of materials as well as a quiz after each section is completed. <strong><em><br>Representation- </em></strong>Checkpoint 1.2: Offer alternatives for auditory information- There are visual aids for each lesson, hyperlinked, and tabs accessible to the user. Checkpoint 1.3: Offer alternatives for visual information- this website contains several videos with sound to listen to some lectures. </div><div><strong><em>Action and Expression-<br></em></strong>Checkpoint 5.3: To build fluency with graduated levels of support for practice and performance- fluency is built through completing the worksheets, answers available to score student's progress. The completed quizzes is also a form of showing graduated levels of support for practice and performance. </div><div><br>3. Smithsonian Learning Lab<br><a href="https://learninglab.si.edu/">https://learninglab.si.edu/</a><br>The Smithsonian Learning Lab was designed to help the educators and parents discover the platform that was built for learners to engage in learning to understand history, art, culture, and the sciences through inquiry and analysis. This website gives you an opportunity to create new ideas or even use past ideas a examples for you to deliver in your teaching style. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints:<br></strong><strong><em>Engagement: </em></strong><strong><br></strong>Checkpoint 8.3: Foster collaboration and community- There is an option to share the information that you learn, or add to the website. This website encourages that you share the knowledge from the Smithsonian with you community. The social media stages that are easy to access for shareable files are twitter, Facebook, and email just to name a few. <br><strong><em>Representation:</em></strong><strong><br></strong>Checkpoint 2.5: Illustrate through multiple media- there are articles, blogs, videos, journals, activities, projects etc that help stage multiple areas of media using this tool. <br>Checkpoint 3.1: Activate or supply background knowledge- There are journals, recent blogs, and articles that the Smithsonian uses to support learning materials. There is a broad mixture of materials from prehistoric events, to current events (Covid-19) that supports the website having background knowledge. The Smithsonian Lab online is sourced directly from the Smithsonian Museum. <br><strong><em>Action and Expression:</em></strong><br>Checkpoint 5.1: Use multiple media for communication- journal articles, research, data, and videos are all multiple media for communication as well as the social media platforms mentioned earlier. <br><br></div>]]></description>

Science Kids at Home<br><a href="http://www.sciencekidsathome.com/">http://www.sciencekidsathome.com/</a><br>When it comes to science projects assigned to students, they can become expensive and a hassle for the students and parents. Science Kids at Home was designed to assist students in science experiments by presenting ideas that most project materials would already be in the home. In addition to helping list the materials needed for specific experiments,  there are links submitted by students that covers science fairs and project ideas. <br><strong>UDL Checkpoints:</strong><br><strong><em>Engagement</em></strong> - Checkpoint 7.2  (Optimize relevance, value, and authenticity engagement) is provided when the students and parents explore this website, then agree on which science project will be completed. This is a decision making engagement that does require one's ability to be sustained effort and persistence in order to complete. <br><strong><em>Representation- </em></strong>Checkpoint 8.2  (Vary demands and resources to optimize challenge) in the website, there is a wide variety of science fair ideas as well as science facts. Parents have tools listed to help students at home learn to generalize information that is being taught by having hands on experiences. Ex. learning about sand, or hot air experiment. These lessons are all inexpensive and can be found in or around the home, nature, etc. <br><strong><em>Action and Expression-</em></strong> Checkpoint 5.2 (Checkpoint 5.2: Use multiple tools for construction and competition) The website offers multiple tasks list to help make science projects from home as well as materials for learning science. Materials can include, worksheets, weekly lesson plans, and videos. </div>]]></description>
