Keeping records from the beginning minimises the burden of reviewing experiences at semesters's end - and facilitates working them into a competitive CV. 

What kind of record-keeping? For instance: Jot down student/subject coordinator praise, as soon as you receive it - it's so easy to forget the good stuff. Note your impressions after trying an innovative teaching tactic (what worked, what needs changing for next time...).
