In this scene, you can watch and analyze how the sound of the plane heightens the severity of the situation. Ilsa and Victor Laszlo leave after guns and illegal action because of a pursuit of love from Rick. As they are leaving the plane engine roars and creates a sense of anxiety and stress as police are arriving to the scene. Sound is crucial because it adds tension and drama that would not be as severe if sound was not present.

In scene 48:00-49:00 Ilsa shows up at Ricks office. The sound that occurs is a bright fairy like sound when Rick first sees her, then an evil type minor chord progression. This exemplifies how Rick felt in that moment seeing her. At first, a sigh of relief, then associating her with evil and negativity. This is super important because it happens throughout the film. Sound is used to create emotions and represent how the character is feeling.
