Orientation: Thorough introduction providing a solid foundation for the remainder of the lesson. Includes ICT (ABC Video) to enhance the content of the lesson as it is a visual element.
Guided discovery: Teacher is to model the activity for students so they know what is expected of them. As a class they will talk about each part of the development process and rearrange the jumbled posters the teacher has displayed. The guided discovery provides support and scaffolds learning. It is designed to prepare the student for the exploration phase which includes the assessment task.
Exploration: The students work independently to participate in the activity/ assessment task which allows them to identify what they have learnt as well as providing the teacher with feedback to what they have learnt. The teacher is around to assist during this process if required but not to give the answers.
Reflection: Students to engage with their peers by presenting what they learnt.
