The village of Lipová is a small municipality located in the Nitra Region in the Nové Zámky district of Slovakia. Established in 1960 through the merger of two former settlements, Ondrochov and Mlynský Sek, the village has a population of approximately 1,500 people. Situated in the flat, fertile land of the Danubian Lowland near the Nitra River, agriculture has historically been the main source of livelihood for its residents.

One of the village’s notable historical landmarks is the Neo-Gothic manor house (kaštieľ) in the Mlynský Sek part of the village, built in 1903. This building has served social purposes since 1947. Lipová provides a quiet living environment and is known for its protected natural area, the Lipovský Park.

The local school, Základná škola (Primary School), Lipová 183, is a fully organized state school that serves as a key educational and community center. It is responsible for the basic education of children from the village. Despite its size, the school actively promotes the talents of its students, such as its success in nationwide arts and crafts competitions. The school is operated by the Municipality of Lipová, highlighting its strong local roots and connection to the community.

Bjelovar’s economy is based on agriculture, livestock breeding, forestry, and a growing entrepreneurial sector. The city actively supports small and medium-sized businesses through investment incentives and modern business zones. In recent years, Bjelovar has become known for its efforts in digitalization and green energy projects.
