(2.1.2-2.2.1) Since Anna Garcia was somewhat overweight, it is easy to believe that she may have had Type 2 Diabetes. With Type 2 diabetes insulin/glucose charts, when glucose spikes, insulin has a difficult time keeping up and can't ever reach it. However, when you refer to her medical records, you can clearly see that when her glucose levels spike (as it did shortly before she died because her stomach was found to be full) insulin stays the same. That is because she has Type 1 Diabetes and has had it since childhood.

Her entries were fairly healthy meals up until then which could indicate that she did not want to document the two days before her death because she knew she was eating unhealthy with insufficient amounts of protein, carbs, lipids, or nucleic acids and not complying with her diabetes.

(2.3.3) Some complications of diabetes include those of the eyes, ears, mouth, nervous system, , feet, skin, high blood pressure and others. Specifically, Anna Garcia's right eye lens was reported to be cloudy, with swollen blood vessels which is a sign of glaucoma. Her urine was not reported to have any evidence of prescription drugs although it should have , considering all of the health issues she had. Her feet were also dark and discolored, all of which exemplifies significant evidence of non-compliance.

I forgot the worst part!", "I'm trying to stay hopeful...but sometimes its really hard", "I just don't know weather I should...try to manage a little longer with this pain", and also the situation where Alex Garcia and Anna began "talking more and more about starting a family" indicate an immense stress level on her which could only give her illnesses the potential to get worse.

She had a slight murmur but showed no signs of edema or swelling in her feet. She was an athlete but lost interest in exercising and began consuming a high calorie, high fat diet. She also drinks 3 glasses of wine per day and an aspirin to deal with stress of her job and illness.
The Big Question: How Did Anna Garcia Die?

From the evidence collected, it is reasonable to conclude that Anna Garcia died as a result of severe depression. After a life long full of inherited illnesses and a recent divorce, Anna just couldn't keep up any longer. Leading up to her death Anna stopped taking medication, stopped exercising, started eating very unhealthy, drinking alcohol and taking aspirin daily, and not practicing good hygiene which gave her a UTI and caused complications with her heart disease, diabetes, and sickle cell anemia. With an average person, "letting yourself go" would take at least about a year or so to kill you, but with her illnesses, it was virtually instantaneous. It began with the malfunction of her digestive system with her pancreas not being able to produce insulin. She stopped taking her medication and her body began having trouble processing food. Then her sickle cell anemia and cardiovascular diseases fell along with it as cholesterol built up causing blood clots as well as her sickled red blood cells creating multiple clots, one of which was in her brain because we also found out that she had a stroke. Then went her urinary system and without proper function of both waste eliminating systems, fatal infections and toxin build up made it only a matter of time before her body would quit on her.

As for her stab wounds, they could have been inflicted after death judging by the blood spatter because there was no smears nor struggles for survival. But who would stab someone after they were dead? Why would someone stab a dead person?

The fact that Anna was found in a bag, in a dumpster, had stab wounds and blood everywhere made it look like a murder. Alex Garcia was visiting her days before she died trying to get documents together for finalizing their divorce so he was obviously one of the last people to see her alive. Neighbors and friends also knew that Alex and Anna did not have the best relationship. Neighbors and friends like Lucy Leffingwell, who visited regularly and cared for Anna Garcia immensely. Everyday Anna lived without Alex, hurt them as much as it hurt her so after fining Anna's dead body and grieving for a short period of time, she made an impulse decision to get back at Alex for the pain he'd caused her. Lucy then inflicted stab wounds into Anna's dead body, put her in a bag, and threw it in the dumpster in order to frame Alex for murder. No one would ever expect Anna Garcia's best friend to do this, and what better way to get back at Anna's Ex-Husband and his new wife than to ruin their entire futures together by sending him to prison indefinitely?
