  • Technology can be used to conduct outreach to the community and to families in many ways. 
  • Simple apps such as Remind or Class Dojo, are quick ways for the classroom teacher to reach out to families and keep them updated. 
  • Google classroom allows you to invite parents to join each classroom via email and google will automatically send reminders for upcoming assignments when they near their due date. 
  • Additionally, more districts are subscribing to apps such as Synergy for attendance and grading. 
  • Parents are able to download an app on their phone and keep close watch on their student's progress. 
  • Social media has blown up as a way to reach out to the community. 
  • School Sites have media pages that may feature a YouTube channel, a Facebook and Instagram page as well as a twitter account which are use to communicate with the community in that way.
