         <description><![CDATA[<p>What stuck with me the most from the video was how clearly the research shows that music doesn't just engage the brain—it actually <em>changes</em> it (not just exercise, another strike against that previous Ted Talk...). The idea that learning an instrument strengthens areas of the brain responsible for language, executive function, and emotional regulation really resonated with me. I am already sold on the value of music, of course, but it is always nice to have your beliefs supported by science.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>We always get kids saying "why do we study (fill in the blank). We're never going to use this in real life."  And we reply because it helps us learn, it teaches our brain order, and other skills stem from this topic.  I would argue that we need to teach music for the same reasons... and that we end up using it more on a daily basis than a lot of these other subjects we learn about.  </p>]]></description>
