Installing Zoom On My Computer

So I was gonna enter this Zoom meeting for the class and I mostly do it on my ipad but since I recovered my home computer and installed Opera, I installed Zoom for Windows, signed in and activated the app, deleted the activator andddd... I had like 1% of memory left , since Dell installed all their crap into the computer, and Windows 11, it used lots of memory and Opera also used some memory. So I go in and enter the meeting, Zoom opened like 5 tabs, I managed to turn on my camera and unmute, after like 6 minutes, computer turned black, curser still appeared but the screen was black, I click on a random spot and it exits out of the black screen and bringing me into the meeting, Zoom opens a tab saying that it could not find my microphone and my webcam and I’m using the Windows one! So I just select the built in webcam and microphone, and Zoom works. Now after 3 minutes, the sound of my computer glitches (lol) and I get a blue screen of death . The sound still played while the blue screen was on lmao, so I let it restart, my curser reverted so it did restart, it also closed Zoom, Opera and File Explorer. I instantly open File Explorer and delete Zoom, empty trash bin and check my memory, 8% memory free . Me never installing Zoom on a Windows 11 computer

Laggy Windows 10 Computer

My mom is going through her old computer and I told her to use task manager to see if a certain app is laggy, then I tried to launch settings but the task bar did not appear and it was not loading, so I tap the Windows key and nothing happens, so I went to the Start button on the left side (because the computer is on Windows 10) and waited about 3 minutes to open. The PC crashed, white screen, no curser appearing and it lasted like 1 minute. it opens the Start menu, I open Settings, it takes 2 minutes, it opens after attempting to open Start again, and I see that it has important updates, so I go to Windows Updates, it did not load, so I open Storage since Task Manager said 100% of CPU was used, about 70% memory, and about 60% disk, so I open Storage, my mom uses the computer for rent or stuff for her, so there is more apps than files . And now, my mom is currently looking through her files. (as of writing this)

Updating Firmware

I freaked out, Windows told me to update 🗿

It said to plug in my PC, and I did although I had 13% of battery. I tried to update for about 3 days, when I finished my work, I had like 60% of battery. I updated by restarting my PC, it then stopped loading, and blue screened me 💀

It had an error code of win11bypass or something, which is probably a code to bypass Windows restart and to boot out of Windows. Since I have a Dell computer, it showed the Dell logo, said something like "Please sign into your account" for a split second, and quickly turned off. It then turned on after about 5 seconds. It was updating my firmware. I waited for about 3 minutes, and it finished. It then shows the Dell logo, and turns off for a moment. I then turn it back on, and it asks for my PIN, and I updated my firmware!

Hey, I remember writing about this a while ago, and while it was somewhat funny and weird to just blab about this.

Well, Padlet got tired, the horrible moderation tools, and drama from everything.

Ah yes, an update on my computer.

I have gotten contact with my uncle who works with tech and gave me two (2) options.

Get a new computer from his shop.

Order parts needed for the repairment.

And well, a new computer would be awesome, but to be honest, this is fine already. I would also need to find out what to do with the computer.

Install Linux.

Forget about it in general

Give it to a family member.

So it was a tight question, I just chose to get it repaired.

At the time of writing this, I have not dropped off my computer to his shop due to my busy schedule, and well I still don't know when to drop it off. Parts arrived to his house, he messaged me and all.

My parents are not aware that I'm doing this, but I don't know when to confess.

I'll notify you all when I get another update or perhaps my computer. For now, I'll just turn off comments.

Yeah, my computer. So I had time to visit my Tia (aunt) and ask her if she can handle my computer and give it to my Tio (uncle) if she has a chance, now since she has to work at night and doesn’t have much time in the day, I visited her again and picked up my computer. So, where to now? A new computer. Once I arrived home I plugged in the computer and let it charge, next day I check it and yeah.

I put in my PIN and look what I found, 3 GB free of storage, but couldn’t test it out on Discord because my @ key broke, if I pressed Shift and 2 I don’t get an @ symbol but instead I get a “ symbol. I was very confused so then I try again, same thing. I then do Shift key and 5, yeah I don’t get a percentage (%) symbol, but a dollar ($) symbol. I actually want to ask my Tio about this since it is NOT normal to have this problem.

I was looking forward to gaming on Roblox like a tryhard on this computer, but with broken keys, chromebook type size, yeah I think I’m good.

Pretty much a small update, but yeah…

Problem Solved.

The Problem

(My uncle owns a repair shop.)

8 months ago, I wrote that I basically got scammed for a computer that seemed pretty nice, it have good keys on the the keyboard and you can even make it into a 180 degree computer (there was another version to use as a drawing tablet.

It was awesome, until it got slow and slow and slower through the days, it would save 10 GB of storage, or just stop down to 30 MB of storage free. It was for general purposes but like this state, absolutely not. With my parents telling me that it’s fine and that it’ll work in no time, incorrect. It had decent speed, around 70 FPS but it wouldn’t handle much stuff. Soon enough, it got horrible to the point that it couldn’t update. It kept pilling up and up just like my ADHD.

I knew it was time for a new computer, however, there were some problems:

My parents will decline.

The perfect amount of RAM would be lost.

Windows 11 will no longer be on.

With that being said, I screwed it and went ahead and started the process for a computer.

I found out that my uncle said he could help, which I went ahead and said sure. We discussed for a little via text, and decided that maybe a storage replacement for my computer would work. I agreed and waited a week. I was able to drop off my computer to my uncle’s shop.

One week later, I get a text message from my uncle stating that the type my computer is cannot have its storage replaced. Turns out, the computer is intended to be used for the amount of storage it has installed. First off, 60 GB of storage IS NOT enough for a teen.

Solution.

After several weeks of talking, we sat on a solution. A Windows computer had some limits, since I had an iPhone and had pretty good grades, it seemed worth it to get a MacBook. Since I didn’t need that much and was on a budget, my uncle said he had a leftover MacBook.

2013 MacBook

13 inch screen (if I remember)

6 GB of RAM

230 GB storage.

Intel i5 CPU (help me)

Intel Graphics Card

Runs a 2020 version of macOS

All for 200 dollars, it was fine. I accepted and.

It’s decent. It runs Roblox kinda bad in terms of battery life. BAD.

Discord makes it hot a little bit but runs perfect.

Web games are fire in terms of performance.

Overall, I loved it.

Thanks for reading,

8 months later, time to close.
