The video that I chose to watch was "Why the US isn't ready for clean energy". Something that was talked about in the video that I found interesting was that some states, like Vermont, plan to have 100% renewable sources to make their electricity by 2032. Another thing that was mentioned which was new information for me was that President Biden wants to reduce emissions in the U.S. by 50% by 2030. I did not know that we were making such great progress in order to have cleaner energy in the near future.

What caught my attention in the video was how it is mentioned that every year, electricity generation is responsible for about 27% of the more than 50 billion tons of greenhouse gasses that are added to our atmosphere. This accelerates climate change. I did not know that in order to get the electricity that we desperately rely on we cause even more damage to the planet.

My initial reaction to this course was that it would be tedious. I thought that I would be doing a lot of work during and after my class. I also believed that I would be spending a lot of money on a book for this class. I have always done well in my science classes throughout my life, however before this class I had never taken a science course online. Therefore, my expectations for this class were not very high. I was worried I would have trouble understanding the work and completing my assignments. 

My experince during this course has been mostly pleasant. This has become a class that I do well on grade wise as well as attendence wise. There have been very few times where I had trouble completing an assigmnet or turning anything in. The class work in this course has always been straightfoward and not difficult to complete. The intructions given to the class was always clear and the feedback I always receieved on the work that I turned in was helpful. I had no trouble completing the activities and a lot of the time I enjoyed doing them. My experince was different than I expected because I ended up enjoying taking this course as well as learning more than I though I would. I also enjoyed that we never had to buy books for this class or do any homework outside of class.

After completing the activities given to us by the proffesor, I feel a lot more positive and open to learning even more about science. Many of the subjects that I learned in this course had to do with global warming and the Earth is suffering at the hands of large corporations and the people of this world. I was able to learn many things that I now apply to my evryday life. For instance, it was in this class that I learned about climate gentrification. I had no idea what it was beofre taking this class but know it has become a subject that I consider often and try to inform other about. I also learned about all the negative affects of plastic and possible solutions being looked at to fix our plastic issue. It was through projects that I did in this class where I learned how so much of the global population faces the risk of running out of clean drinking water by 2030. This course changed me as a person because it has made me more selfaware of the issues going on around me. It has also inspired me to find ways to aid in stopping these issues. 

In conclusion, this course was one of my favorites this semsester and if I could take it again I would. The instructions given by our instructor were always clear and concise and that aided me in completing my work. Interacting with my classmates was always a positive experince. Taking group tests and hearing about what everyone else was learning was a nice experince. Overall, I will leave this class with a positive outlook on science and a desire to learn more.
