The websites are both called "Wix" and "Simpl". We were then given questions to compare both these websites to eachother and find pros and cons about both of them in order to see what website out of the two we'd find more suitable for us. In todays lesson we were given our tasks and they were to create questions for our focus group about our mood boards, for our websites and get feedback for them. We also completed the mood board if we hadn't and completed the proposal about our website. We then got into our focus groups that we were assigned to in class, to discuss the ideas on our mood board for our websites and was asked to write down the responses to each questions. The only struggle I had was coming up with unique questions to ask that were suitable for my benefit. I thought my struggle would be discussing my ideas and asking the questions to others whilst being filmed as I hate being on camera but that wasn't my issue. I felt that this was the complete opposite in that I took in everything that was said about my website by writing them down. Another thing I felt went well was responding and giving my opinions about other peoples ideas for their websites. In todays lesson I did my flatplan mock of my website and how I wanted my design to be, designed my logo and edited it and then started my website itself. I learnt how to use wix properly, how to change shapes, buttons, fonts, colours, sizes and backgrounds. The only issues I had with this, because im not good at photoshop, I knew I wouldn't be pro as using wix and I was correct. Everytime I changed the background it didn't look like it had changed, so I had to move the old one down and delete it. Another thing is I kept uploading images and they kept coming out blurry and so I kept having to start again as nothing worked. I learnt more that I need to be more organised in order to pass and keep up to date with my website and coursework. I didn't really do anything practical with my website so I didn't face many issues. However when creating my logo last week it had not saved so I redid this. The problems with this was making the product on its own with no white background, and copying and pasting the whole thing to word without copying one letter. I don't feel this lesson was effective for me because I didn't do anything practical enough on my website. However using photoshop I learn more things and learn I get more frustrated with it. I live just outside London and as you can tell I'm in to photography. I have always been interested in photography, nature especially. I know that's sounds like a clique but when I was younger about 8/9 I was going through a rough patch and grabbing a camera and making the simplest thing from a leaf, grass or flower, seem more beautiful just helped me along my journey. And 10 years down the line I'm just as passionate about photography then I was back then. The reason my photos are more nature based is because I find nature more beautiful and so underrated than doing fashion or people photography. I made 4 headers I thought were nessecery to my website. I also completed the problems and solutions sheet for my website. I learnt how to manage time, deadlines and a few more things on Wix. A major thing that went wrong was finding an image big enough to fill the whole page rather than tiled up. Also another major issue I faced was having a box filled with materials that I tried deleting, it wasn't deleting so I ended up just deleting the whole page and starting again. However I found today good as I spent my focus mainly on the website and I'm quiet happy with my final outcome. In the process of creating my website, I found it very hard at first to get use to the website but I didn't take me a very long time. I figured out and found it very easy to import images and videos, font and shapes for my website. When looking at simpl I found it very difficult when locating where to import things and the layouts I didn't find good or user friendly. Wix however is the better and more simpler website to use when creating a website and better at choosing a more simple layout/background to use. All you have to do is sign in to Wix.
