She had never really looked forward to her birthday growing up. They were poor, Remmy and her mother, and they could never afford presents, a cake, or any celebration. Remmy's birthday was always just another day. But her 16th was different. Remmy's mom is going to tell her what's behind the door—the door she was forbidden to open. To even look at. But she would find out today, her 16th birthday, and it would be marvelous. Except it wasn't. A masked figure barged into Remmy's house as her mom was opening the door, and stabbed her mom, disappearing into the door. Remmy's grief quickly turns into rage as she vows to take revenge on her mother's killer. She takes the dagger the mysterious figure used on her mother and enters the realm. The door closes behind her and when she turns around, the door leading to her home is gone. She must find her way through this strange world, training, learning how to protect herself and fight others. In her search for revenge she loses herself and the memories of her mother begin to fade away. Can she find the mysterious man? Can she find the door leading her home?
