When I was in 5th grade my dad got married to a woman. (lets call her Amy) Amy absolutely hated me from the moment she met me. Before they were engaged when i was at her house she would make me clean (keep in mind it wasn't my house) when we moved in together she would make me clean everyday. And she would make me do more and more every time. I usually swept, did the dishes, cleaned the first floor, and cleaned up after her sons. She made me feel like I was Cinderella and she was the evil stepmother. When i would try to tell her i was tired of cleaning she would just yell at me and say “were you raised in a barn or something.” when we would go to get food she would always ask me and my brothers what we wanted and i would always be the first to answer but she would say she wasn't talking to me and then ask the boys what they wanted. For the time that they were married i never got anything i wanted only what my brothers wanted and if i tried to complain she would tell me to act like a lady. She preferred my brother and my step brothers over me because I am a girl.

Women used to be looked at as if we were made for nothing more than to clean and to cook. Men used to come home and expect dinner on the table and a clean home. In 1912 women were not allowed to vote and had no rights whatsoever. But in the 1920s that was changed. In 1912 women also were not allowed to own land and were not allowed to have jobs outside of their homes unless they weren't married. Most of the time in  1912 if women wanted to get divorced then they would lose their friends and place in society. Guys don't normally get dress coded because most guys don't wear legging or cropped shirts.this is why dress codes are pointed at girls. Do you see schools saying no joggers and long nike socks? You probably don't. Almost everything in the dress code is for girls. 

-no leggings without having a shirt cover you up
-no skirts under finger tip length
-no ripped jeans above the knee

These are prime examples of dress codes pointing at girls 

 girls have to limit their clothes and guys don't. We have to dress differently because were either “distracting” or “inappropriate" 

The boys being distracted has nothing to do with us. We shouldn't be punished for their eyes, we can't control where their eyes go.
