         <description><![CDATA[<p>Children with ASD are identified through either parent or teacher referral, developmental screening, and comprehensive evaluation by a team.Common assessments are ADOS, ADI-R, as well as cognitive and language tests, behavioral checklist and observations in different settings. Most of these students receive their education in the Gen Ed classroom with appropriate supports and services, although some students spend part of their day in Special Education settings based off of their own individual needs. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>On the local level there are supports within your childs local school system as well as their special education classrooms, and there are also websites that offer support such as Autism Speaks, the Autism Society  as well as the organization for Autism Research, which not only offer information about the diagnosis itself but also talks about treatment options as well as educational rights. On these websites you can also find family support centers, advocacy groups and workshops.</p>]]></description>
