DNA Replication

1. In terms of DNA, “replicate” means that the DNA makes a copy of itself during cell division.
2. DNA Replication takes place through the enzymes — specifically the helicase, the primase, the DNA polymerase, and the DNA ligase.
3. DNA Replication is similar to a photocopying machine. They both involve the formation of a new material that looks exactly the same as the previous one.

Transcription

1. Transcription should happen prior to synthesizing proteins because through this, a messenger RNA is produced, which carries the genetic information from the DNA.
2. In my perspective, transcription is just like a painting. Both are representations of something, yet are not exactly the same. To further explain: in transcription, only part of the DNA sequence is copied to produce RNA molecules.
Image (c) Ram Achal
