Who Am I?

My name is Dawn Mae Gerson, I am 21 years of age. I am young woman who's very shy towards people I don't like interacting with strangers, most of the time I remain silent and alone. Well people say I'm naturally quiet. This is partially true while I may come out as shy and reserved to people who don't know me, I'm actually quite talkative. The reality of the matter is I rarely make the first approach to talk to strangers. Therefore, I'm usually alone wolf in social settings, unless my pack decides to accompany me. But when a person approaches me, I'm very friendly. And when the stranger is patient enough, she/he may witness my jovial side not to be mistaken as a social reject, but my lack of interaction is not a weakness or a deficiency.

Where Did I Grow Up?

I grow up in a small fishing village in Barangay Carmelo where I had experienced such memorable experiences during my childhood that reflects myself as who I am today as a person. It also made me realize to appreciate meaningful memories in our life that will stay forever in our mind and heart.

I have found out through hard work and determination anything is possible. Growing up as a kid I was always an academic achiever student. It may sound like I'm bragging but it's the truth. It all changed when I would get to high school. My grades decreased and my life would take a difficult route than I expected. Because of the difficulties in my life, I became a whole new different person the stronger version of me. Because of those experiences they made me who I am today. From kindergarten to college i had faced many struggles throughout my journey and thanks to them who made me who I am today.

What are my hobbies and interest ?

My hobbies are planting root crops ornamental plants and watching reels on Facebook. Because It gives me so much happiness as i do my hobbies, I am also learning valuable lessons as I take my hobbies as an opportunity to learn and discover things that associates with my interests.

My proudest accomplishments was when summer practicum ojt happened and I am capable of doing anything. And it made me realize the value of hardwork and dedication to reach success.

What are some of the challenges I've faced in life?

First of all there are a lot of challenges I've faced recently especially when it comes to financial problem as me and my family don't have lot of money. Being poor motivated me to do my best and work harder for my family so that I can graduate in college so that i can give my family a better future, but sometimes I do suffer from my emotional problem, sometimes I feel like I can't move it due to those many obstacles that has been going on in my life but whenever felt like tired and i wanted to give up. My family is always there for me to support me and motivate me every step of my journey through times of difficulties, they always remind me that there's a light in the darkness and no matter what we shouldn't give up.

How have these challenges shape me as a person?

The challenges i faced in my life was tough but on the other hand, I am so thankful, because of it I learned some important lessons throughout my life. It thought me to never give up no matter what how difficult your situation is no matter what, no matter how difficult your situation is no matter how many difficulties you've faced there's still hope , that everything will be alright . Those challenges i faced made me a better land a stronger person to face many more them, I became stronger as a human being and I am thankful because without those obstacles in my life i wouldn't be here today as a stronger and better version of myself.

What are some of my future goals and aspirations?

I want to finish my studies and graduate as a professional agriculturist so that I can help my family to give them a better life. And so that I will have a good/stable job for my own family in the future to give them the best life that I never had.

Here are some fun facts about myself. First is I love cooking ; it brings so much happiness when I got to cook for my family. Second is I love listening to music it inspires me and motivated me. Third is I love playing with our dogs they are such great companions and very cute. Fourth is I like planting ornamental plants specifically it brings me peace as it acts as a decoration in our house and in our backyard. Fifth gorgeous looks the last but especially not the least as they say I like recycling turning it to trash into things that can be useful and reusable.

What is my philosophy in life?

It is a fact of life that we cannot control what other people do. We can’t make someone else act with integrity, or make someone else do the right thing, and we can’t make someone else be a good person. All we can really control in life is ourselves. When someone else does something bad or dishonest or unkind we can only control our reaction to it. And the way we conduct ourselves in tough times is the way we exhibit the person that we are.

Unfortunately we live in a world where there are people who will lash out at others in jealousy or greed or plain old meanness. And no matter how good a person you are, there will always be those who try to tear you down as best they can. But always remember that regardless of what anyone else does or says, we can always choose to take the high road – we can always choose to continue to act with integrity and kindness. And at the end of the day it is taking that high road that will bring us inner peace, even amongst the turmoil that others may try to create.

One thing that helps me most at those times when I have had to deal with someone who is trying to tear me down is to remember that there is only one person we need to be able to please in this life and that is God.

Who are my biggest influences and inspirations?

My parents are my inspiration, as they work hard just to provide us. With all the facilities. They arre the only ones in the world who have always supported and motivated me to achieve my goals. Through thick and thin my parents have walked with me shoulder to shoulder. They taught me to see dreams and inspired me to achieve through the endeavour. They always say nothing comes in your hand without hard work, believe in hardwork, and never lose hope in your life. I know I can't give them back what they have done for me at least I can make them happy with my success.
