Technology and Language Arts can go hand-in-hand. When I read books in high school and was having trouble understanding what was going on, I would use technology (Spark Notes) to help explain the context of the book.

In high school my AP english class used kindles to do all our reqired reading. I think that if high school english teachers had access to a classroom set of kindles for students would be very helpful. Such as the fact you can highlight anything or put bookmarks anywhere. Then you have one place where you can see everything you have saved. Which can help with preparing for quizzes or test. Do book reports over the books. Also students can have many books on one kindle and not have to caqrry around all the books or the school doesn't have to buy new books every couple of years. I really believe this is a very helpful technology contribute in teaching english.

Hi Bailey, great question!
I know that many students who struggle to read books, or struggle to comprehend what they are reading, can use audiobooks that really help them! I think this can be a great resource for students who are struggling.
- Shelbie Melson

In my AP English classes, we would use technology as a faster way to type essays out. We also used it to cite articles, books, and journals for our essays as well. We also used technology to bookmark different books online. Using technology in a english classroom is really beneficial and can help the student find resources faster.

I have always preferred to read books on my kindle and type essays on my computer. Technology in English Language Arts has made my life feel a lot easier! I believe that we can use technology very efficiently in English Language Arts. I have read a lot of books through my kindle for classes and it makes it so much easier to understand and take notes on. I think it's overall a very modern, efficient way of learning.

This is a fantastic question! As has been stated before, there are various ways to access literature online, but this isn't the only way you can utilize it. There are also many writing lab programs you can use to help teach your students to write coherently and with purpose.

Language Arts is probably the one subject that goes hand and hand with technology. There is so much that can be taught in language art on the Internet, from grammar rules to spelling words to even writing papers and having them checked over for you. You can also read books and have books read to you on the Internet. As technology keeps advancing there is more and more resources provide for teaching English Language Arts.
