Him and his friend also came back here as a refuge for awhile until the town was attacked. They then escaped but were forced to come back for food. It's a farming town where they spent a few months living and helped the farmers there. Until the war finally reached them and Ishmael saw his brother for the last time. They feel safe because the military is there, but then the village gets surrounded by rebels. This leads to Ishmael and all other boys about his age becoming child soldiers.
