         <description><![CDATA[<div>Davis Richmond is a Civil Rights Activist from the 1960s. He was one of the 'Greensboro Four', along with Ezell Blair Jr., Franklin McCain, and Joseph McNeil. He, along with the other three, sat at a segregated lunch counter for only-whites - peacefully protesting for their rights. This eventually sparked nation wide sit-ins across the US at the time. He was a college student, who eventually dropped out and became a counselor before dying of lung cancer at the age of 49 in 1990.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Franklin McCain is a Civil Rights Activist from the 1960s, known as one of the 'Greensboro Four', along with David Richmond, Ezell Blair Jr., and Joseph McNeil. The four sat at Woolworth, a 'whites-only' lunch counter, and peacefully protested for their rights to be equal. After protesting, he later graduated with a degree in both chemistry and biology. He passed away at the age of 74 in 2014 due to respiratory complications.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Starts on February 1st, 1960 @ Greensboro Country in Atlanta. Peaceful sit-in protest started by the 'Greensboro Four'. This brings up more and more peaceful sit-in protests across 13 other states with segregated lunch counters.<br><br>Ends: July 25th, 1960. The Greensboro protesting ends in a victory for all colored people, as lunch counters in Greensboro remove their segregation policies across town. This sparks other areas to follow suit, and eventually also gain their right to eat, no matter their skin color.<br><br>(Total Time: 5 Months, 3 Weeks, and 3 Days.)</div>]]></description>

Small sit-ins that started in North Carolina sparked the sit-in movements that spread into college towns. Though after all these sit-ins and outbursts.          <description><![CDATA[<div>"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside." This amendment gives all U.S. citizens of the U.S. the same rights and the ability to go to the same places. This amendment was being violated because a group of African Americans sat in a "All White" restaurant and they were asked to leave. They were violating the 14th amendment and it was not fair to the group of boys. </div>]]></description>
