Robbie Robertson was an incredible musician and guitarist. Robbie began playing guitar while visiting family on Six Nations of the Grand River. In his teenage years, Robbie turned to rock'n'roll and joined the Hawks in 1960. After many bands and music releases, he was one of the lead guitarists on Bob Dylan's "Blonde and Blonde". In 1987 he began his solo career and was a huge success.

My favourite song

My favourite song by robbie has to be "Somewhere Down The Crazy River" this is not only because of the lyrics but the music too. I feel like his music is really relatable and it has a lot going on which I really like. My favourite line from the song has to be "Why do you always end up down at Nick's Cafe" because I just really relate to this part of the song. It reminds me of a time where when things got too much I would walk down to my local cafe and get a coffee. This line brings me a sort of comfort because I no longer am in that cafe everyday and that I think that is really great progress.

I think that Robbie found a way to communicate his struggles through music, I personally think that his way of coping with difficult subject matters is turning it into art for others to listen to. For example, his parents divorce. He references this divorce in a couple of songs like Broken Arrow, Go Back to your Woods, etc.

I relate to Robbie in a lot of ways, specifically how he found his love for guitar. Robbie Robertson found his love for guitar by visiting his older family members. I also found my love for guitar by learning from my Nana. My Nana really inspires me to be my best self and try my hardest in everything I can. When I was younger I was sort of a tomboy and she never made me feel ashamed of that, instead she played the games I liked instead of forcing me into things that just weren't me. My Nana is an incredible guitar player and she sparked my love for music and guitar.
