Jackie Robinson was best known for his courage. Robinson was the key person that integrated Major League Baseball by being the first African-American second basemen to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers. No matter the hardships that the players or the fans put him through, he stayed calm and did not lose his patience. Jackie was and still is one of the best Civil Rights activists.

Jackie Robinson was the first African American baseball player to be integrated in to regular baseball. Jackie Robinson played for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the early 1900's. Before he could be able to play baseball for the Dodgers he had to have courage, strength, control, and had to be exceptionally good at baseball. The coach was Branch Rickey, and he decided to keep his operation of putting an African American into major league baseball. He kept this a secret because of criticism. Soon Jackie was out on the field playing baseball.

Jackie Robinson was unique because he got picked to be part of the noble experiment. The noble experiment was for baseball to be integrated and everyone to be equal. Branch Rickey was looking for someone very specific. The man had to be African American, good at baseball, able to take rejection and hate, turn the other cheek, and not retaliate. Out of many men applying for this part, Jackie was chosen because he had all those character traits which made him unique from all those other men.

Jackie Robinson was skeptical and doubtful because he had been asked to play and try out many times, but never actually got accepted or got to play. The coaches would so you say taunt Jackie by saying they wanted him, but never accepted him. He went through life walking on a tightrope to prevent too much disenchantment like he had gotten when he tried out every time.
