The detailed analysis of the financial statement of Ryanair, it seems visible that the company had been able to increase its turnover remarkably that is to more than double, figure for 2023 being 9,468,732 compared to the turnover of 4,060,401 in the previous year. The possible reason may be the improved services and more affordable as well as attractive travel packages leading to overwhelming experience. The tangible assets have reduced slightly from 8,220,009 to 7,958,800 that could be due to the disposal of some assets having finite life which is quite usual part of any company.

There was a decline in the Gearing ratio in 2023 of 80.65 while in 2022 it was 97.45.

The table shows the financial profile of Ryanair in the year 2023, 2022 and 2021

There was a significant increase in the turnover of Ryanair in 2023 compared to 2022 and 2021. Ryanair made a substantial profit in 2023 compared to 2022 when they were at loss. There was a slight increase in the shareholders funds in the 3 years above. The gearing percentage reduced from 97.45% in 2022 to 80.65% in 2023 and its significance is, a portion of the company’s capital was funded by debt in 2022.

Ryanair has had some significant break through when when comparing their financial data from 2021 to 2023.

The financial profile of ryanair shows that their turnover had a massive increase of over 100 percent from 2022 to 2023 and over 9 times increase from 2021 to 2023. How ever this may not suggest a total success, since their tangible assets droped in 2023 when compared to 2022. It could mean that some assets where sold which resulted to the increase in the turn over.

Futhermore, their liquidity ratio droped from 1.03 in 2022 to 0.83 in 2023 which gives a negative concern on their ability and capacity to pay off their current liabilities. This links to the reason their financial Gearing reduced from 97.45 in 2022 to 80.65 ina 2023 which may be of critical concern to investors. Investors may not want to invest in organisations that has a declining financial gearing.
