The reason we are doing that is because it can show that a story like Romeo and Juliet can happen in the present. The music played will be intense in different parts to show feelings. This is most evident when Romeo says "Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die” (5.3.120), which has a lot to do with death and with slow, sad music to convey the tragedy. Music will convey how they are feeling on a higher level than just words. Another concept we are focusing on is the clothes that they wear. We are going to focus on that because by wearing colors like red and black it can show emotion. The color black symbolizes tragedy and in romeo and juliet their unfair love led to tragic consequences. The color red symbolizes blood and danger. This is when Juliet takes the knife and stabs herself " She takes Romeo’s dagger, stabs herself, and dies " (176).  Juliet would have to have a good outfit and would have to have blood stains. We don't plan on wear costumes but regular clothes in red and black to show the sadness of this scene.
