My biggest take away were how in the brain there is different sections of signals. Some of stress, anxiety and many more. I think that the most interesting fact I read was that when our brain sees a signal of us being in another room, and there's different people we don't know, background, and culture it sends a clear signal to our brains. The way the body reacts when it is scared, it just shuts down. Even if you are in a class you become uncomfortable and that sends big signal to that part of the brain.

I learned how much the enviornment in the classroom can affect people's brains. In class we need to make people feel welcomed and accept their ideas.

I think the most interesting part is that only mammals have a limbic layer. The RAS is apart of the brain where it's only about reaction. Attention and Alertness. The Amygdala has the authority to bypass the brain’s communication dispatch hub in the thalamus and send distress signals directly to the lizard brain in the form of the stress hormone cortisol.

I think the biggest take away I saw was how that small almond shaped part of the brain can simply take over and override your problem solving part of the brain when it feels threatened. I think this is a manditoy part of the brain for defense but I think it can be to strong in some situations.

The takeaway I got from the article was that our brains have an override whenever we feel in danger emotionally, physically, or mentally. When that override kicks in, we loose the ability to learn and focus. This is why it is so important to have a safe learning environment so that that override does not kick in and everyone in the environment is able to learn. The most interesting fact in for me was that when you are in 'danger' the override will take over all brain functions. As a result of this I will be mindful of what I am doing and saying to ensure that everyone is guaranteed a safe learning environment.

I thought it was interesting how your brain takes less than a second to react. When you’re scared your brain shuts off and the fear takes over and now you can’t really learn/think, so I will make sure that I do not make uncomfortable comments.
