At the January 15 meeting, we decided it would be a good thing to have a presentation on sanctuary cities, hopefully with Northampton City Councilman Ryan O'Donnell as speaker - Maybe others.
- Rose is in touch with Ryan O'Donnell and with MA State Sen Jamie Eldridge who is working on sample legislation for towns as well as legislation to make Massachusetts a sanctuary state.
- Anna mentioned knowing about immigration lawyers in nearby towns who might also make good speakers
- Lucy mentioned showing "The Cummington Story" showing that Cummington has hosted refugees before, as a discussion opener for hosting refugees or considering sanctuary town status

MA State Senator Jamie Eldridge is working on a proposal to to make all of Massachusetts a sanctuary state. In drafting that legislation, he’s also working to create working for cities and towns to adopt, in case the state-wise measure doesn’t pass. Hoping to get that wording soon.
