We enjoyed making lanterns in different forms. One we used our cutting skills, another we collaged and one we used our fine motor skills to colour with felt tips.

The children also enjoyed a Chinese banquet! We tried foods such as prawn crackers, noodles, spring rolls, rice and prawn toast.

On our Educational visit we took a drive to Chinatown in Liverpool to see all the decorations. We used our communication board to tell staff what we could see.

We have taken most of our learning outdoors. The children had a story “all about spring” and then went outdoors to look for signs of spring using our communication board. In our music session we used the parachute outdoors to move to “Vivaldi’s Four Seasons (Spring)”.

For our art work we looked at some impressionism artists before creating our own beach, garden or forest.

The children also took part in world book day activities and a trip to our local library.

As part of National Science week we had a trip out to Manchester science and industry museum. The children loved exploring the interactive activities.

We finished this week with a lovely visit from our mums and nans.

On our educational visit this week we took a trip to Botanical Gardens in Southport to search for signs of spring and enjoy playing on the park in the lovely weather. We worked on our sharing skills with our friends and unfamiliar people who might have been there at the same time as us.

We celebrated St Patrick’s day and Red Nose Day this week with a variety of activities. We really enjoyed counting with our Irish money box and making red nose biscuits. The children also loved Mel’s capybara costume she wore on red nose day.

We had fun making Easter cards, Easter sun catchers and Easter nests. We had an Easter egg hunt outside where we found chocolate eggs, yummy!

To end a brilliant term we went to visit McDonalds for dinner. We ordered our own food, paid for it and also waited to collect it before taking it back to our table.
