In the section highlighted Morrie explains how most people sleepwalk throughout life and don't like their lives with meaning. What most people need to do in their lives is to just stop and think about their decisions and think, am I on the right trajectory for the life I want to live? If more people did this they would live their lives very differently. People don't believe they will die because they think they have so much time but this is so far from the truth because in reality you can die at any minute. The reason I put the icons I put is because of him thinking about death.

In this section it explains how people wouldn't care as much about their material possessions if they really accepted that they can die anytime and lose all of their material possessions. But if they really hold on the the things they cant lose like friendships and family they can have that forever. They wouldn't care about the jobs that they have as much, they wouldn't be as greedy and they would just care for life much more than they did before they accepted death. I put the icons in the picture because Morrie is a smart man and he was giving the author wisdom.

In this passage Morrie is unusual about his death. When the Author tells him about the Lou Gehrig quote where he says "Today I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth." Morrie says that he didn't say that in a sad tone. When the author brought up Lou Gehrig it put Morrie in a sad mood because they both have ALS and it took away all of Lou's great talents and Morrie knows that the disease will also do the same for him min the end. I used the icons in the picture because Morrie is sad.

In this passage Morrie talks about how the disease is turning him almost into a child. The way he needs a nurse to help him with everyday things is almost like a mother taking care of their child. He talks about how some people did not get enough love from their mothers so they yearn for their mothers after they are gone. pg 116

In this passage Mitch talks about how all of Morrie's things are old. This is because he stopped caring about materialistic things so he didn't replace anything that didn't need replacing. Morrie simply doesn't care about that, he cares about loving others and being a good person. pg 126

In this passage Morrie talks about how he doesn't necessarily want to talk to people about their problems but it is the right thing to do because speaking from the heart will always make someone feel better about themselves. pg 128

In this passage Morrie surprises Mitch because his wife usually doesn't sing for people but in this instance when he asked she delivered. I think that this is because of how much charisma Morrie has and how welcoming he is. pg 146

In this passage Morrie remembers a story about when he played poker with a bunch of people at the University and one wanted to see him work. Then he went to one of the classes and after class the surgeon told him to come to his work. Morrie was in the operating room and someone thought he was a doctor then he was scared. This resonated with me because I thought it was a very cool story about an instance in his life. pg 144

In this passage Morrie talks about how the culture makes everyone feel threatened because that's what the economy does. He says it makes money a god and that it makes everyone fear for their lively hood. This is important because of how the culture makes us always in a mental competition that doesn't really exist but everyone is so wrapped up in it.pg 154

In this passage Morrie talks about family. He shows Mitch his photos of all the members of his family. He goes on to say that family is even more important when you are down. You need a tight nit family in times of hardship. This resonated with me because Morrie lost a lot of his family at a young age so he knows how it feels to have a broken family. pg 91

In this passage Morrie talks about detaching yourself from things. He elaborates on how Buddists say not to attach yourself to THINGS because they are impermanent. Some people don't know how to detach themselves so it is important to learn how. I picked out this passage because it is important not to get to attached to things that aren't permanent pg 103.

In this passage Mitch jokes with Morrie that he's stuck in the sixties and Morrie says it isn't that bad you know. This is because of the new culture. This is important because he is grateful for his good life pg 111
