☆ Power by Little Mix
- This song talks about how the singer has a partner that can do things, however, they cannot compare to the singer in capabilities, which is like the mitochondria. The cell makes up ever living thing, but without the mitochondria, the cell does not have the energy to go through with its necessary processes.
☆ In The Middle by dodie
- In this song, the singer talks about being in the middle of two people teasing a relationship, which compares to a mitochondria's structure, which consists of two membranes protecting the inner part; it is in the middle.

My purpose is essentially to produce energy for the cell! I'm known as the "powerhouse" around here, as I produce the energy which is crucial for a cell's survival and function. Through causing a series of chemical reactions, I break down glucose (sugar) into an energy molecule, my old bud ATP (adenosine triphosphate). By producing ATP, I can fuel a multitude of cellular processes. Not only this, I can also generate heat, store calcium for cell signaling, and I am involved in cell growth and death. I can get pretty busy.

If I ever stop functioning, a lot of damage can happen. If I'm not there to produce energy that the cell needs to go through with many of its processes, many cells can die. I am found in nearly all body cells, so when I can't function and cells die, this affects multiple organs throughout the body. For the brain, this can mean Dementia, migraines, seizures, and strokes. For the eyes, this can mean partial or complete blindness, restricted movements of eyes and droopy eyelids. For the digestive track, this can mean disfunction of the muscles that help move food through the stomach. For the muscles, this can mean constant weakness and tiredness. Lastly, for the heart, this might mean a disease in the heart muscles that could lead to heart failure. I try not to disfunction or disappear!

There are so many other mitochondria there, I would love to meet and work with fellow mitochondrion to make up a cell.
☆ vacation spot: staying in the inner membrane is fine with me!
☆ kids? I reproduce using the process of binary fission, which is when I split into two to create another one of me, so it's not very hard! I'm open to it.
☆ current job: producing ATP energy and keeping all cells healthy and working
☆ hometown: cytoplasm of a cell
