This mug is from Ken’s House of Pancakes in Hilo, Hawaii. If you’ve ever been to Hilo, you might know this famous restaurant. It’s a 24-hour diner, and they serve amazing pancakes, burgers, and local Hawaiian food. I got this mug when I lived in Hawaii for three months, and every time I see it, it brings back memories of that time.

My Experience in Hawaii

During my three months in Hawaii, I explored beautiful beaches, hiked through lush rainforests, and enjoyed the island’s warm and welcoming culture. One of my favorite things was trying local Hawaiian food, like loco moco, poke, and of course, the delicious pancakes from Ken’s.

Why This Mug is Special

Every morning, I drink coffee from this mug, and it reminds me of my time in Hawaii—the sound of the ocean, the friendly people, and the relaxed island lifestyle. It’s not just a souvenir; it’s a piece of my adventure.

It was a good trip with my mom and other friend. In this day, we took the elevator directly to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. The guide teacher said that it’s not easy to take the elevator to second floor because there is too much tourists.

The scenery of Paris from the second floor was beautiful. Also, in 6p.m. the light was shining from the Eiffel Tower. It was so pretty and it was a good trip.

Today, I want to talk about my first step toward a dream.

Since I was young, I’ve dreamed of becoming a flight attendant. I imagined traveling the world, meeting new people, and helping others feel comfortable during their journeys.

To make this dream true, I knew I had to take action. The first step was learning English. I practiced every day, watching English movies with no Korean subtitles, and listening to English music. It wasn’t always easy, but I kept going because I believed in my dream.

Today, I stand here with a small but important achievement: I’ve taken my first step toward becoming a flight attendant. And I know that with each step, I’ll get closer to my dream.

When l was 11 years old, l went to amusement park with my friends.

And l had a chance to ride a rollercoaster which is very popular in Korea. But l hesitated to ride it because it looked so scary and l finally give up ride it.

But in the bus way back home

l was very disappointed that l didn’t ride that rollercoaster. So due to this incident,l learn that lt is better to just try it not hesitate it. Even you fail about it , lt will be a meaningful thing to you.

When I was 12, I experienced a big deal.

It was big ballet contest. When I went to do my ballet work, I felt so nervous. I think I can’t do my ballet work. Because I didn’t believe myself. But I overcome it. I did my ballet work and I get special prize(second prize). This experience helped me realize that believe myself.

Before an occasion happened, I was a girl who wasn't confident at everything. I had many dreams. I had many thoughts. I had many things, but I was often afraid of failure. So I used to lock myself with fear. Instead of following what I wanted to do, I started to follow others into the molds because I was too afraid.

But one day, there was school sports festival. I wanted to do skipping spinning ropes. But at first, I was too scared. Scared of failure and classmates laughing and shouting at me. Again, the easy failure of fear tried to grab me, but surprisingly, I managed to say "I will do it!"-and everything changed.

Of course, I was terrible at skipping ropes. I was embarrassed but still practiced all day and listened to others' advice. I practiced, practiced, and practiced.

And on the day of the festival, l stood with my heart pounding, and showed everyone my improved skill. Our team didn't won first place, but still I found something.

The moment taught me a valuable lesson: Just go. Believe in yourself. Know that you can do anything. Know that your mistakes make you. So go. Why just follow others and get stucked in molds of fear? Just go and face your fear. We can be we by just going.

So to everyone here, I say: Go. Go and fail. Still you are you. So face the sticky molds of fear. Because sometimes, that mistakes make you.

Have you ever experienced breaking relationships? When I was 8 years old, my friends didn’t care about me and even they forced me to buy something for them. But I didn’t break relationships of them because I thought that time solve everything. But it was not true, more and more I endured breaking relationships, my friends forced me more dangerous things. But I just endured. And it was my experience that I regret until now.

At first, I felt angry and annoying but then, I realized that I don’t need to stick to some people who make me cry and sad. And I have right to express my feeling. Then, when I was 11 years old, I broke relationships boldly because my friend give me heartache. But I didn’t decide easily to break it.  I agonized all night long. Then I decided. We just need some agonize to break bad relationships.

But I know that there are many people who are struggling from keep bad relationships. So from now on, I will give some reasons why we need to break it. First, if we keep relationships to bad people, you may be involved in bad situations too. So we need to think practically to avoid blocking the way forward. Second, you are not the trashcan of emotion. You should protect yourself.

So if someone gives you a heartache, you should think of breaking relationships. Sometimes, putting down burden of maintaining relationships is better. We don’t need to waste time of the expenditure of emotion. Just think that someone who bother me emotionally, the person has shortage of relationships. Don’t be involved in someone like that. One day,teacher offered me to participate in the school science contest. The science contest of kind was really unfamiliar. At first, I worried that “Can I do it well?” However during prepare process, I thought it’s more important and meaningful doing new things than output. So I do the contest as well as I can. Finally, I won the contest and I felt a sense of accomplishment, not winning, but also myself.

Through this opportunity, I challenge more such as talented test,baking,and leaning various instruments before the occasion. In effect, I‘m leaning guitar alone. It quite hard, but it atto to me.

Trying something new needs courage and adventurous. It might be scary, however it gives opportunity to find what you like.

So if there are any chance, don’t let it go.

Hello! My name is Yerin and I’m first grade on middle school.

This time, I want to talk about the importance of believing in yourself.

Do you believe and be sure your opinion?

Back in I was younger than now, I always be worried and anxious about my thoughts and opinion.

For instance, when I have to decide something as a leader that could change our team’s direction, I think “What if I’m wrong?” “What if this decision leads our team in a bad direction?“

But one day, ‘Why I always be worried about that I’m wrong?’ that thoughts flew through my head. I started to find out what is the problem.

And I find the reason: I don’t believe myself.

And I don’t be sure my opinion.

After I found the reason, I try to believe myself and to believe my team members who trust me.

Then I know one thing : after I believe myself, I can make a more perfect output. Also I can enjoy to do my activities more.

After actually trying to trust myself, I was able to produce more complete results.

So, I want to say you guys : Don’t worry too much and Just do it.

When I was 13, I failed a big test. At first, I felt really disappointed and upset. But over time, I realized that failure gave me a chance to understand myself better, work harder, and grow into a stronger person.

Failure teaches patience, courage, and that it’s okay to make mistakes. Everyone who has ever achieved something meaningful has failed along the way they just didn’t give up.

Failure is not the end it’s the beginning. Each failure is a step forward, a chance to learn, and an opportunity to become stronger. By embracing failure, we discover what we are truly capable of.

Today, I want to talk about my first step toward a dream.

Since I was young, I’ve dreamed of becoming a flight attendant. I imagined traveling the world, meeting new people, and helping others feel comfortable during their journeys.

To make this dream true, I knew I had to take action. The first step was learning English. I practiced every day, watching English movies with no Korean subtitles, and listening to English music. It wasn’t always easy, but I kept going because I believed in my dream.

Today, I stand here with a small but important achievement: I’ve taken my first step toward becoming a flight attendant. And I know that with each step, I’ll get closer to my dream.

As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “ The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

Let us all remember: our dreams are the seeds of our future. Believe in them, nurture them, and take the first step. Because that step is the beginning of something incredible.

When I was young, if I sad there was a intersection. 'Happiness'

If you bored, 'Happiness' can change.

But, there is a point.

Also 'Happiness' can change too.

'Happiness' can be sad, disappoint.

Nevertheless, 'Happiness' is the intersection, 'Happiness' can change bad things. So, if 'Happiness changes bad mood, 'Happiness' wii change again. If you feel good mood, 'Happiness' will keep your mood. What do you think? Is 'Happiness' intersection?

Last year I watched the Tv show 유퀴즈. At that show the professor Jinhyung Lee was coming out. Than I became interested in Brain science. But at first I felt nervous. Because I thought it is hard and difficult reading thick book base in that subject.

But now I learn it easy one to hard one or continue to do hard one. However the most important thing is no a both way. The most important thing is Just trying. You can or cannot is not important just do it. Than you have any result to be glad or to be disappointed

I am standing here today to ask something important of you. Do you know that we are making ourselves sick?

Haven’t you noticed that the four seasons in Korea are disappearing last year and this year? Spring and autumn are fading away, the weather feels hot even in May, and cherry blossoms bloom later than usual. I have felt this change very clearly. Sometimes, it’s hard to tell if it’s summer or autumn.

This is climate change, caused by global warming.

Due to global warming, the Earth’s average  temperature has risen significantly. As of 2024, it has increased by 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to the pre-industrial era. In the past 120 years, sea levels have risen by 20 centimeters. And the global temperature continues to rise steadily. Climate change costs us more than A trillion dollars per year between 2000 to 2019. On 2024 wildfires widespread in California, Alberta, and other places. The response costs were in the tens of billions of dollars. On 2025, in Northern Europe, heat wave occur 10 times more often and 2 degrees stronger because of climate change. It made many negative impacts.

This crisis – this suffering of our planet – is something we caused ourselves. We choose to drive even short distances. We skip sorting our waste because it’s inconvenient. These small habits have brought us to this point. According to the UK's Seventh Carbon Budget Report, one-third of the greenhouse gas emissions that need to be reduced by 2035 will be due to individual household choices.

We may not be able to turn things back to how they once were, but we must at least stop things from getting worse.

Turning off lights in empty rooms, recycling properly, walking instead of driving short distances – these small efforts can change the fate of our planet and ourselves.

Even at this very moment, our Earth is suffering from global warming. So now, I ask all of you: if we do not act for the Earth now, we will all be in danger. We must act before it’s too late.

We cannot allow the damage caused by global warming to grow any further. Many countries are already suffering because of it. And now, no country is safe. No one is an exception. It is no longer enough to only think this is serious. We must act.

Let me emphasize once more: every small action we take, or fail to take, affects our planet. And when the planet suffers, so do we.

Your small changes – your choices – can save the Earth, and save us all.

Today I want to talk about something that affects all of us: self-confidence.

Self-confidence is the belief that we can do something, even when it feels hard. It doesn’t mean we’re perfect, or that we never make mistakes. It means we trust ourselves enough to keep trying.

Self confidenceis like learning how to ride a bike. At first, we wobble and fall. But if we keep believing we can do it, we eventually ride without help. That’s self-confidence in life.

In middle school, it’s easy to compare ourselves to others. Maybe someone is better at other subjects. But confidence is not about being the best. It’s about believing in your own value and knowing that you have something special to offer.

When we have self-confidence, we speak up in class, try new activities, and stand up for ourselves and our friends. Even if things don’t go perfectly, confidence helps us learn and do it instead of giving up.

So, how do we build it? Starting small is a good idea. Set goals you can reach, celebrate your progress, and remind yourself of your strengths. Surround yourself with people who encourage you, and most importantly, be kind to yourself.

In the end, self-confidence is like feelings—the more we use it, the more natural it gets. Believe in yourself.

I thought I wasn't happy these days. So I thought about happiness. It was so difficult. But I found a pretty plausible answer.

I think happiness is every life. I thought about when I was happy to find this answer.I think I'm happy when I hang out with my friends, when I go on a trip, and when I watch baseball. If you think about it, these were things that could be easily done in everyday life. But we don't think of these things as happy. So am I happy now? I'm trying to feel that I'm happy right now by asking myself.

I enjoy watching the TV program You Quiz. One person in the program said this.“When I was in elementary school, I was happy when I was in kindergarten, when I was in middle school, I was happy when I was in elementary school, and when I was an adult, I was happy when I was young. Then we are happy now.” So I think happiness is a daily routine. What do you think happiness is?
