Janie doesn't typically drink milk, because she is allergic. She just finished eating a peanut butter sandwich, and what washes peanut butter down better than a glass of milk. So, Janie took her best friends milk carton without her noticing and took a large gulp of milk. She was about to return the milk carton when she noticed a picture of a small child on the milk carton that said MISSING! That picture looked just like Janie! Janie mentioned out-loud that the picture looked like her, but no one really noticed and brushed it off. Janie kept the milk carton and couldn't get the idea out of her head that it could be her. How could it be so! She decided that she would investigate. She couldn't get over the idea that the little girl on the milk carton looked just like her, or what she thought she would have looked like when she was three years old. Later in the week, she asked her parents to see her baby pictures, and they told her that they were so busy the first few years that they didn't take any. Janie thought that was unusual, since they have a wall of just Janie's pictures going up the stairs. There were other things that just didn't add up. She went to the public library to look up the date of this little girl's disappearance. She discovered that the little girl was taken from a shopping mall in New Jersey. She felt overcome with shock! How could her loving parents Kidnap her.. There is no way! But, Janie couldn't get these thoughts out of her head. She started to have flashbacks... She remembered that she was around other children, she remembers a nice women wearing an apron. Her mother never wears an apron, and she is an only child. She finally told her boyfriend Reeve. Reeve thought she was losing her mind. He lived next door to Janie and knew her parents well.
