Us was made by Jordan Peele. It shows people being attacked by their "negative" clone. It seems like it fits in the horror movie category and it becomes very gore.

The theme of memory is present in this film as at the beginning of the movie we see Adelaide wander into "Vision Quest", a place filled with mirrors, which terrifies her. In there she sees herself in the mirrors, but also in real. It then cuts to the future. All along the movie, we see some flashbacks, for example when she's at the psychiatric office and her parents are talking the therapist. Later in the movie we see more and more of the scene at the beginning of the movie. At the end, we understand that the Adelaide we saw for the whole movie was actually the "bad" one. This movie shows Adelaide's memory as being very troubled, in which she doesn't remember much, she suffered from what looks like PTSD. This also shows memory as being subjective, there is often a second side of the coin that we don't know about. But in the end of the movie, we do get to see it.

This movie shows identity as being very confusing, we don't really know who is who because, as we saw with Adelaide, the appearance can be deceiving. We didn't know until the very end that Adelaide was the "bad" one. For all we know, all the characters have been replaced. It shows identity as being troubled and confusing, never being sure of who is who.

We see issues of trauma being that you never know what someone is hiding, they don't want to talk about it as they don't want to relive that experience.

Issues of repression are that when you get repressed, for example the "bad" Adelaide, you are forced to do something drastic and be someone you are not. Maybe the real Adelaide was feeling repressed, and that's why "bad" Adelaide stepped in.

I conclusion, the theme of memory and identity is present in this movie, we also sees the issues of trauma and repression.
