         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Describe a completed event that happened before another event in the past.<br>ex. They had been worked for couple years./ Tom had been graduated for three years.<br>2. Describe an event in a time period that leads up to another past event or time period. Use the simple past to describe the later event or time period.<br>ex. They found that the key had been remade for one year. / He realized that his sister had studied biology. <br>3. The prepositions can introduce the later time period.<br>ex. They  had known about the grade before teacher told them. / She had lost her key before her mom came home.<br>4. The past perfect is often used to give reasons or background information for later past events.<br>ex.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1. It depends on how certain you feel about something <br>ex. It shouldn't be easy to finish the data homework./ The class might not be good to you.<br>2. Use can't or couldn't when you are almost certain something is not likely or not possible.<br>ex. I can't use my laptop right now. / He couldn't be working recently. <br>3. Use have to and must (not) when you are mostly certain or when you think there is only one logical conclusion.<br>ex. He has to know his responsibility. / You must worry about your future.<br>4. Use ought to and should (not) when you have an expectation based on experience or evidence.<br>ex. You shouldn't miss the bus. / They should be free to go class.<br>5. Use could, may (not), and might (not) when you are unsure or when you don't have much evidence.<br>ex.          <description><![CDATA[<div>An infinitive is to + the base form of verb. Some main verbs in a sentence are followed by an infinitive, not a gerund.<br>A. verbs + Infinitives<br>ex. We decide to go to gym after class./ <br>B. verbs + objects + infinitives<br>1. After some verbs, an object comes before the infinitive. The object performs the action of the infinitive. The following verbs are followed by an object + infinitive.<br>ex. He wants me to go to supermarket with him.<br>2. Some verbs can be followed by either an object + infinitive or an infinitive only.<br>ex.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1. The coordinating conjunction and, but, or, so, and yet connect independent clauses. <br>ex. I don't eat meat, but I eat fish.<br><strong>Connecting sentences with and, but, and or.</strong><br>2. you can use the comma before the next sentence you want to connect. <br>ex. The restaurant sold burger, but it did not sell wings.<br>3. When you connect sentences with the same subject with and or or, you can omit the subject. Also, if the modals or the auxiliary verbs are the same, you can omit the modals or auxiliaries.<br>ex1.
