These quotes were meant to be inspiring and motivating to guide us in our everyday life. Helping us to see the world as a better place, to find fruit in failure. 

I could have chosen any of the famous quotes and used it in this essay. It is true that some of it are motivational but does not have the same impact as this one particular quote I came upon while browsing the internet.

Somehow, I felt relatable to this quote. Ever since I was small, I was taught to be obedient, silent and indeed I was. I had a small social circle, with my best friend being the cousin of the same age. I had entirely no clue about the real world and how it works. I can't even buy anything from the store without having a slight nervous breakdown.

It was 2013 when I came across the quote. I was given my first phone for my birthday and decided to play around with it. I downloaded an app called Instagram and stumbled upon the quote on someone's profile. I read it slowly and processed it for a few seconds. I realised that I needed to step up and make a story of my own. Something amazing that I could tell to my grandkids one day.

This changed my life in a better way. I communicate better with others. I became much more active in co-curriculum activities. I excelled in every sport I participated and even went to state championships. In a way, I managed to convince myself that I could do a lot more in life. It's just that I did not have the courage to do it. It made me the person I am.
Surely I have good family and friends to thank for, but this quote became the kickstarter of all the adventures I had throughout my teenage life. 

And this is just the beginning. I look forward to see what else life has to reward me. If life gives me lemons, I would polish and frame them to remind everyone about the kind of things life could give us but we should not let it affect us in any way.
