Such significance is due to the fact that it is believed that the earliest first stage of Stonehenge was a monument for a cremation cemetery.  Other significance can be found by the value found in the understanding gained about regional and international contacts from the 4th to 2nd millennia BC, and shed light on how prehistoric society was organised.  Furthermore Stonehenge is unlike any other prehistoric monument since it dressed the stones using sophisticated techniques and erected them using interlocking joints. Such theories may not be as widely accepted to due Suppression by Authority, in this case the Authority suppressing these facts would be the introduction of new religions. It theorizes that it may have been built in Whales first before being dug up and moved to its current day location in England. It states that carbon dating on the stones prove that the stones were excavated from their quarry in Whales 500 years before Stonehenge was made and state the stones may have been used locally before Stonehenge.
