Hello! My name is Lynette Mendoza, I am a 22 year old Mexican American woman. I am majoring in Literature and Writing Studies and I hope to become a high school English teacher. I currently work at an elementary school as a kindergarten teaching assistant. I work Monday through Friday from 7am-2pm and I attend classes after work. Based on my opinion, economic policies become the major focus for both countries. In Malaysia, their focus on economic policies are to lessen poverty and social restructuring. Meanwhile, in USA, their economic policies generally featured low tax rates,less regulation, lower levels of unionization and greater openness to foreign trade. The government of Malaysia and USA are alert to improve the lifestyle of the citizens. The economic industries have grown to offer job opportunities to help the citizens to develop better lifestyle.

My name is Diego, I live in Poway, California. I am currently attending Cal State University, my major is Social Sciences with a focus on Sociology, Psychology and Political Science.

I am a 10-year Army Veteran, I was a Combat Medic, I am hoping to get a job working in one of the embassies in The Balkans once I graduate or maybe a nonprofit somewhere abroad, possibly South America since I am a bilingual speaker. I like to travel, sports, nature, art, reading and hiking with my dog. I have traveled many times to South America and Europe. I also lived in South Korea for 2 years while serving in the Army. Traveling and exploring new places and cultures and meeting new people is something that I have always been drawn to. My name is jasmin, just min with no E . I am a 16 year old girl, a boarding student who is taking a PNG (business) stream with a reading obsession.
To me, the federal representative democracy which is used in both Malaysia and the USA is important to me.
Representative democracy let the citizen choose the government. With this, all the citizen opinion would not be ignored and injustice would happen in the process of selection. This policy is what I appreciated the most and i hold dear on.

To me, the future of my nation as well as this world is important. Considering the climate change that is unavoidable nowadays, I would stress that The Green Technology Master Plan Malaysia (2017 - 2030) is definitely a policy that serves importance. The Green Technology Master Plan Malaysia outlines the strategic plans for green technology development to create a low-carbon and resource efficient economy. This document sets out the immediate course for the country to embark on a green growth journey. It lays the foundation for the cultivation of mindset and behavioural change, to inculcate green lifestyle among the citizens. This Master Plan is essential to facilitate the Transformasi Nasional 2050, or TN50 which is an initiative to position Malaysia amongst the top countries in the world in economic development, citizen well-being and innovation by the year 2050. Hence, this policy definitely brings many benefits for Malaysia as well as the world.

Hello!

Here in the United States we have very strong perspectives and ideologies about poverty including its causes, and what the solution should be. Unfortunately, we are falling behind many other developed countries in dealing with poverty. Our poverty rates are very high and we have not had any drastic change in our poverty policies since the 1990's.

My questions for you are:

What do you think the most common idea about poverty is in Malaysia?
Are there any assumptions about people who are poor and what the solution should be?

One of the most important policies in Malaysia is the New Economic Policy (NEP) introduced in 1971. The NEP aimed to eradicate poverty and reduce economic and social disparities among different ethnic groups in Malaysia. It aimed to increase the economic participation of the ethnic Malay majority and reduce the dominance of the ethnic Chinese and Indian minorities in the economy. The NEP successfully increased the participation of Malays in the economy and reduced poverty levels.
