I currently live in China, however, I am from Southern California, USA. My 3rd grade students are studying Habitats. We would love to know what your home habitat is. 
In Southern California, the weather is described as a Mediterranean climate which means we have some winter rains and dry, hot summers. The kinds of plants that are native or grow naturally here are Chaparral and sage scrub. But, Southern California has beaches, deserts and snowy mountains nearby. The Scottish climate is warmer than someone might expect given how far north we are. This is because we have an oceanic climate. It can be very wet in Scotland, but this also means that the country is very green. We tend to have quite wet summers and winters with some snow.
